Am looking forward to this, 2 great actresses in it Brenda Blethyn and Hilary Swank. Probably be a bit sad but still sounds interesting.

Trazzletoes Fri 01-Mar-13 20:16:51

I'm watching it too! I hope...

travellingwilbury Fri 01-Mar-13 20:19:03

I am recording it , it looks really well done but I can't cope with malaria on a Friday .

( shallow)

CuriousMama Fri 01-Mar-13 20:31:23

Oh dear looks like it's going to be very sad I'll be crying soon sad

difficultpickle Fri 01-Mar-13 21:09:03

I missed the first ten minutes. How did they end up going to Africa? I've been twice with ds and would never take him to a malaria area.

CuriousMama Fri 01-Mar-13 21:12:07

I took the dog out so missed a few minutes. Swank and son went because son was being bullied so she thought he'd enjoy an adventure. Blethyn's son went to work there. Both have died of malaria.

difficultpickle Fri 01-Mar-13 21:15:24

So was Brenda Blethyn's son the teacher that Hilary Swank's son played football with?

CuriousMama Fri 01-Mar-13 21:20:56

Yes that's right.

CuriousMama Fri 01-Mar-13 21:21:25

God I'm in bits.

SizzleSazz Fri 01-Mar-13 21:23:29

OpheliasWeepingWillow Fri 01-Mar-13 21:23:57

Wish I knew the plot before I started watching sad

CuriousMama Fri 01-Mar-13 21:24:12

Do either of you have sons? Think that's what's getting to me so much.

SizzleSazz Fri 01-Mar-13 21:25:15

No, i have dd's. But the mother holding the little childs hand had be in bits

CuriousMama Fri 01-Mar-13 21:25:43

yes me too awful.

difficultpickle Fri 01-Mar-13 21:27:28

I do, he's 8. He was 2 and 5 when we went to Africa and I made sure we didn't go anywhere that had malaria (which ruled out Kruger national park in SA). I was so careful and worried about him getting bitten.

CuriousMama Fri 01-Mar-13 21:30:32

Do you know I didn't know there were areas that didn't have it?

Smudging Fri 01-Mar-13 21:32:42

CuriousMama Fri 01-Mar-13 21:38:50

I just missed a bit, what did her dh say to her?

CuriousMama Fri 01-Mar-13 21:39:37

Oh as if it could get any worse sad

difficultpickle Fri 01-Mar-13 21:42:22

That she isn't a politician and if she goes to the hearing she won't be able to say anything or make a difference.

I'd love to take ds to Etosha national park in Namibia but can't until he is old enough to take malaria tablets. Still have to be careful in areas that are considered low risk.

Cremolafoam Fri 01-Mar-13 21:45:10

I'm weeping now

SizzleSazz Fri 01-Mar-13 21:45:21

'I'm not ready to stop being a mother' <sobs some more>

Cremolafoam Fri 01-Mar-13 21:48:28

We are all your children
< sobs>

Ooh they just did a montage

Jellykat Fri 01-Mar-13 21:55:42
