Another one here whose baby started 'talking' whilst just her head was out. I had to wait until the next contraction to push her out and she was having a good old natter! Everyone in the room was giggling. I just love that.

"OMG that would freak me out if my baby started crying when just head was out!"

My third son (11lbs 3oz) made a few sounds while only his head was out; I could feel the vibration of his voice through my body. It was sweet - everyone in the room went "aww".

Sorry, watching on catch up!

Has she just been refused an epidural for 6 hours? shock

Me23 Wed 13-Feb-13 22:05:21

the clip on baby's head is a fetal scalp electrode it monitors the baby's heartbeat. Reasons it is used are usually because the ctg is not maintaining good contact so keep losing the heartbeat.

I thought Lucy was lovely. so much better than a shouty midwife.

ChristineDaae Wed 13-Feb-13 22:01:33

Oh thanks, why do the only do it sometimes? Is it the ones who have epidurals/inductions etc where they need more monitoring?

Lozario Wed 13-Feb-13 22:01:08

Twins next week! Can't wait!

susiedaisy Wed 13-Feb-13 22:00:39

It's a clip to monitor the baby's oxygen levels when they are still in the womb

BarnYardCow Wed 13-Feb-13 22:00:30

See you next week!

Lozario Wed 13-Feb-13 21:59:41
