Has anyone watched this? dh and i watched the first three episodes, really really good with some really dark but very funny scenes. looking forward to watching more on netflix tomorrow :-)

I love breaking bad. We got into it on netflix too. One of the best series i have ever watched i think. I had to be pushed into watching it as i didnt fancy it at all. I seen the first four seasons and it just gets better.

Timely! We've just watched the first series and I've got series 2 ordered. Best thing we've seen in yonks. The writing, the acting, the cast, just everything about it sings originality and quality.

I'm terrified that the standards slide as the seasons go on, but all the reviews I've read (carefully avoiding spoilers!) say it just gets better. Best of all, the final series hasn't been aired yet so we can watch it along with the die hard fans.

My dp loves the drug cop brother in law. I love Walt and Jesse. I love all of it. Watched it tonight, pretty much laughing or jaw dropped throughout.

We are just watching the 1st series again as well. I wasn't overly keen but DP loves it. Now I am watching series 1 again I am liking it. It is really well written and acted and there are some really good dark parts which show off Malcolm's dads (Walt) acting skills

We were so hooked after season 3, which was the last one on netflix, i asked my dad to bring me the season 4 dvd back from america. He has also watched the first half on season 5 while he was there

All the epiSodes are up on Netflix MotherAbigail aren't they? So you shouldn't have to wait for the remaining seasons...although you may want to space them out for your own sanity as it's very easy to get over-involved in this show (speaking as someone currently listening to the Breaking Bad Insider Podcast - it functions as my main form of BF entertainment)

Breaking Bad is the best series I have ever watched. I'm waiting for the final series to start but I'll be bereft when it ends!

There are some jaw dropping, shocking moments. The evolution of the characters is subtle and wonderful.

Would anyone who also watched/loved The Wire tell me if Breaking Bad is as good? I love the Wire to the point of obsession, and we are about to start BB. Am really hopeful it will fill my Wire-shaped viewing hole.

bought series 1 of breaking bad during xmas period. Was hooked after the first 2 episodes. Swiftly bought series 2 and 3 : they get better and better!
Will be buying series 4 and 5 soon. Series 6 is currently being filmed, alas it will be the last, but this show is truely brilliant!!!
Yes it is 'dark' but it is 'entertainment' and the quality of acting is to be seen to be believed.

it's fab, best thing for me addictive wise since '24', has the same 'just one more episode' before bed, usually end up going to bed far too late having seen 2/3 episodes back to back. stays in my head alot the next day and both dh and i are gagging for the next episode. put it this way, dd has been going to bed at a decent hour (earlier) since we have come across it :) really grusome in parts and funny/clever in others, highly recommend

sickof the two shows are quite different and great in their own ways. I was engrossed by the Wire, which seemed to be a measured city wide portrayal of an important social issue.

Breaking Bad is nothing like that, it's not meant to be realistic or balanced, but is totally character driven, and depending on whether you like the characters you just strap in and go along for the ride.

Basically the Wire came across as slightly worthy and preachy, whereas Breaking Bad is unashamed fun (ok slightly uncomfortable fun, given the subject matter).

Love, love, love Breaking Bad and like bringnbuy, we'd be gagging for the next episode. We'd watch several in a night and we got completely caught up with where they were in the US...then I had a baby and while we waited for the next season, forgot all about it. Now I've no idea where we're up to - I feel like I messed the flow of story-telling up!

Breaking Bad doesn't preach about class in the same way a lot of 'gritty dramas' do.

Love Breaking Bad here too!! And it just gets better and better...... The last episode of Season 4 is the best TV I've ever seen!! Wish I hadn't seen it now so I could watch it with fresh eyes all over again!!

We're halfway through season 4, having only started watching after Christmas. I agree with all the above - 'oh we can manage one more episode...'. And, sickof my OH loves The Wire too. I missed out on getting involved early on as was in a bad patch at work, so I can see its merit but never really learned the characters.

Breaking Bad seems to be spreading like wildfire - 4 of us at work watching now! And obsessively discussing. But the others are on seasons 1 and 2 so I have to watch what I say.

I love Mike best (have a nasty feeling he won't be with us for long). Of course Walt and Jesse are brilliant. I was fond of Jane too, having a gothic, artistic DD of my own.

Would definitely like to watch it all over, because there are so many clever fore-shadowings and repeated themes. How about the episode that starts with people crawling... and then a couple of epis later we see one of them crawling again, in chilling circs? Oh, great stuff!
