Anyone else watching this?? I think its brilliant very witty and lots of black humour .
I think Daniel Radcliffe is excellent and John Hamm can do no wrong in my eyes

I'd try to see if there was a thread about it but couldnt find one

It's on Sky, isnt it? Is it possible for those of us with no Sky to see it?

Nobody I know has been watching it. Glad you are enjoying it.

I don't have sky so can't watch it on telly, but I am preordering the DVD which I think is released on dec 31st, since it's only about £15, and will sell on if we don't like it. It looks fab though - from the adverts, the role really seems to suit DR. Until I looked it up on amazon I had no idea it was based on a book Blush

Oh, don't worry - it's an incredibly obscure book (actually a series of articles written for a medical journal and then collected as a book), and it seems to be published in English in a variety of titles, so there's no reason to have heard of it unless you studied Russian lit at some point. It's hardly War and Peace.

It's maybe the sort of thing the library might get on DVD, actually - I might check to see if they're ordering it.

A Country Doctor's Notebook was written by the same chap who wrote The Master & Margarita, which is not quite so obscure and as often as not the lead-in to folk reading this. Apparently Jon Hamm is a Bulgakov fan and produced the tv prog. Am rather enjoying it, pretty good. Would recommend anyone read Master & Margarita if they haven't done so - it's a wonderful book.

Ooh, there's a trivia question in there. "What connects Jon Hamm and Josef Stalin?"
