But I'm only on season 5 so no spoilers please!

I started out with a complete girl crush on Lorelai but I'm starting to find her completely immature and egocentric.

I love the show though. Even DH is addicted.

I've seen all the series, I'm a fan.
I'd love a thread about it.

Love the GG, hacen't seen all series as the box set costs ££££ but I have heard that the writing declined especially after Amy whatsername left.

Lorelai is both completely likeable and completely irritating. I love the quick fire dialogue though and I LOVE Stars Hollow. All the small characters are brilliant too especially Lane's Mum and Kirk.

I love it loads but felt the ending wasn't as strong as I would have liked.

It's like Dawson's Creek for grown ups. But takes itself less seriously.

The last series was disappointing, it's like the script writers were just looking for ideas to finish it off. It really was comfort daytime telly, but I liked the final episode.
Another series I loved was Judging Amy. Did anyone ever watch that?. It went all weird at the end too, though the final episode was also good.

I think Lorelai is the only character that doesn't really grow or change so she can seem a bit irritating after SO long of being samey!

Love GG though. I want to live in Stars Hollow!

Love GG.

I loved Judging Amy though I only ever saw a few episodes on five.

I would love to see the whole thing. Her mum was so lovely.

It was brilliant wannabe, it doesn't seem to be repeated any more.
And I agree, her mum was fab, it was the actress that played Lacey in Cagney and Lacey, she played a Social Worker. She was amazing.

Rory was annoying me intensely by the end of GG but the early seasons were lovely.

Loved her rich boyfriend though (Logan?)

I loved her and Dean together in the early days.

Yes they were sweet to begin with. Nicely innocent! :)

But I couldn't stand him in the later ones!

LadyBeagleEyes · 13/10/2012 23:13

Nah, Dean just stayed a small time boy.
Rory wanted more.
Jess was the one for her, once she got her career on track and him with his writing.

I hated the whole Deans divorced and they are back together bit.

Jess was the one.

Ugh the teen wedding/divorce was car crash tv!

I forgot about Jess. I liked him. But I still thing Logan was the one! :)

Was Logan not the rich Yale boy? Hmm, not crazy about him so far but as I say I haven't seen the last couple of series yet.

Jess was cool in that angsty teen way.

One of my favourite characters was Paris!

Love her mad neighbour with the jazz musician boyfriend and all the cats.

Love Sookie.

waltermittymissus · 13/10/2012 23:33

Yes sqoosh but it was definitely a situation where he improved over time!

Paris was fantastic!

I didn't like any of Lorelai's boyfriends except the obvious one of course!

I thought Max Medina was gorgeous.

Paris is a great actress. She had a really good scene with Leo McGarry in the West Wing.

I love the Gilmore Girls up to season 4/5. Then I just think it is okay.

I think Loreali became far to dependent on men in the last seasons. Some of the story lines (not wanting to put spoilers!) were just so frustrating and out of character. Before then the show had been all about being strong independent women.

Rory gets pretty annoying too and Logan is an arse. Their relationship is horrible, especially at the beginning when he seems to have so much control over her.

I think it is the minor characters that make it. Kirk is fantastic, that bit where he runs out of the dragonfly naked had me in stitches everytime Grin

I think it is great that it portrays a positive mother/daughter relationship. You don't really get that often on TV. Even better is portrays single parenthood in a positive light. I watch it when I am feeling down about being on my own and it always perks me right up and reminds me how amazing it is and how I am honored to be raising my dd alone Smile

Ahh I have been missing the Gilmore girls. Fell in love with it whilst e4 showed all the re-runs. Total escapism

DH and I watch it every night. (He by default more than choice) The last season was too much Rory. The Rory Show! It seemed like she was playing at being a grown up, she just seemed unbelievable or something. I tried to figure out what it was that bugged me, maybe her voice was too babyish for a journalist?
Had to edit out some of my post as OP said no spoilers!

We now call verbal diarrhea "Gilmoritis" But in a kind laughing with them way.
