Right so they are going to employ some people then. I think.

Gordon Ramsay is such a knob isn't he?

It's not exactly riveting is it? I understand it's for charity? How about not make the programme and just give the money to charity instead? Confused

According to Heat mag - Gordy and Mary are running a team of unemployed youngsters in a hotel, with the help of Gok, Phil and Kirsty, Hilary Devey etc...The challenge is to make loads of ££s for employment charities.

Did i miss the bit where the programme makers explained that?

Its all very disjointed..

Turned it off, pile of rubbish, if the premise was to train unemployed people in hospitality skills and raise some cash for unemployment charities to boot then great - but this just seems like yet another reality tv show with a cast of wannabes.

It's one of those programmes that looks like it could have been quite good if it wasn't like it was IYSWIM.

Yes, loads happening but just WTF really. Grin

I am enduring it, but only because my mums friend will be on it tomorrow (I think). She is a creative dog groomer and has taken my mums poodle to turn him into some kind of character Grin
But the whole thing is a bit confusing...

I watched for a bit, sadly had to conclude it was merely exploiting desperate young people by expecting them to learn perfection in one day, with the inevitable failure that results, and also giving a showcase for various celebs to show off. I liked Phil, though. He too was training from scratch.

I watched about ten mins and changed it when all the sob story lot got employed, the one with M.S or was it M.E the alcoholic etc, it's like x factor Que the heart warming moments with accompanying music and some fake tears about how well they are doing when they've had it soooooooo hard etc.

Bollocks to it, it's just more American style unreality tv trash.

Ummmm..... I quite liked it. It really made me laugh at times.
Although I dont like the way gordon Ramsey talks to the trainees. No need to tell them to f* off.
But I have worked with young people in their first job and quite a few have no idea how to talk to customers in a friendly, polite and professional manner. A few weeks experience and they pick it up really quickly. The ones with attitude that they are above it all and dont get stuck in, never got far.
So hope this helps to open some peoples eyes to what is expected of you at work.

I think mary was offering to send kim woodburn up to clean the penthouse for a group of young guys. She was joking!
