sad I know I'm god knows how many years behind you all but, I've been good and watched it faithfully week by week from the beginning. I think it's the best thing I've ever watched. Ever. I will mids that family.

BunnyLebowski Wed 26-Sep-12 16:40:07

It's the best television show of all time. Without doubt. <bangs gavel>

I've watched it all the way through 4 times blush

I'm now getting my teeth into the only show people claim is better. The Wire.

lighthousekeeping Wed 26-Sep-12 16:42:43

I'm almost dreading tonight!!! I have to say Season 6 didn't grab me as much as the rest and, after all this time, it seems abit rushed??? I have wine and pizza and tissues

BunnyLebowski Wed 26-Sep-12 16:45:23

The final episode proved very divisive. Lots of complaints and people not 'getting' it. David Chase defended it brilliantly in an article <tries to remember where>.

Personally? I think it's the perfect ending to the perfect show.

lighthousekeeping Wed 26-Sep-12 16:47:54

Well I can guess how it ends even though I've been good and not googled. There was no other way. I'm still sad about Janice's husband last week!!! Although, I have never taken to her.

BunnyLebowski Wed 26-Sep-12 16:50:11

Yeah you're most definitely not meant to love Janice.

She's pretty despicable grin

Agree-I miss The Sopranos-none of the storylines or characters were predictable-unlike most tv dramas-only Mad Men comes close at the moment.

lighthousekeeping Wed 26-Sep-12 17:00:32

Even Mad Men is going off the boil. I can't see it going on for much longer.

BunnyLebowski Wed 26-Sep-12 17:02:03

I love certain aspects of Mad Men but overall find it really slow and, to be frank, a wee bit dull.

No amount of perving at Don Draper and Joan Holloway is making up for it grin

HiHowAreYou Wed 26-Sep-12 18:07:31

Loved the Sopranos far more than the Wire. But I probably love Mad Men as much.

I loved the ending, I thought it was the best end to a drama series I'd seen, and still do. So interesting.

SuperB0F Wed 26-Sep-12 18:14:55

I loved the ending too. Stayed with me for days.

BunnyLebowski Wed 26-Sep-12 18:17:47

Me too Bof

I ended up reading online analysis and theories for hours and hours in the days after watching the finale for the first time blush.

BunnyLebowski Wed 26-Sep-12 18:19:42

Check out this AMAZING Tony impersonation

Blows me away every time! He does one with Christopher as well grin

SuperB0F Wed 26-Sep-12 18:20:01

Me too blush

lighthousekeeping Wed 26-Sep-12 18:23:55

Oh I can guess the ending but I would love a catch up later. I hope I don't get disturbed. There are very few things I can watch twice Curb, Father Ted, Frasier and SATC are about the only things. I just know that I will have to get the boxed set of this.

41notTrendy Wed 26-Sep-12 18:25:33

I still mull over the ending. Was perfect.

We're like you OP, only caught up with it this last year. I miss it muchly. The Wire is excellent, but not as good. We are enjoying Mad Men, but not as good as Tony. The only thing I've seen recently that ticked all the boxes was The Bridge.
Enjoy it!

SuperB0F Wed 26-Sep-12 18:30:52

Breaking Bad is the best thing I've seen in the last few years since The Sopranos.

Lighthouse- I'll look back later and we can all be poncetastic and analyse it to death again grin

lighthousekeeping Wed 26-Sep-12 18:36:03

Yes I'm leaving this thread now for Afew hours. At least Iight stop having mucky dreams about him if this is the end.

HiHowAreYou Wed 26-Sep-12 20:29:18

I do like Breaking Bad too, but I'm only on series two of that. Well, just finished it.
I feel, so far though, that the show always seems to ever so slightly excuse the main protagonist, for his bad actions, so he isn't ever quite one hundred percent guilty of anything he does wrong. Which irritates me a little bit. I don't know, it is as if the writers lack conviction a tiny bit. Or they're too scared of the viewer losing sympathy for him.

I mean like when he decides to kill the guy in series one where he has him captive in the basement, he only actually does it once the guy attacks him, making it more self defensey instead of murdery. Then when he kills Jessie's girlfriend, he doesn't actually kill her, just watches her die.

lighthousekeeping Wed 26-Sep-12 22:33:40

sad there was no other way though

SuperB0F Wed 26-Sep-12 22:36:04

Have you seen it now, lighthouse?

lighthousekeeping Wed 26-Sep-12 22:37:34

Yes just pouring a drink to think about it. Was Paully the only one that survived?

SuperB0F Wed 26-Sep-12 22:38:40

God, I can't remember. I'll look for that link someone mentioned.

SuperB0F Wed 26-Sep-12 22:40:52

This isn't it, but it looks pretty good...

cocolepew Wed 26-Sep-12 22:41:17

I loved the ending but DH hated it.

Tony Spoprano was sex on legs.
