It is so funny! Dh and I love it.
The boy who plays the central character is fantastic and Chris O'Dowd is great as always.
So much better than 'Gates' which had a great cast but just limped along IMO.

Absolutely fantastic, I'm loving it. It's so sweet and actually makes me laugh out loud at it.

I loved their dancing on the wall the other night Smile and his friend with the make up (also another fantastic young actor) oh and also his mum and dad when the dad was trying to remember the name of her weight watching group Smile

I love it too. V sweet and funny and set in town I spent lots of time in in 1989. They've got most of the details of that time right and am loving seeing it.

Yes another one here who is loving this. Agree re Gates - gave up on that as I didn't find it funny at all. The young lad and his mate with the make-up are just great and Chris O'Dowd. Good to have a nice family comedy to watch.

It's brilliant! I think DH fancies setting up a Dads club where they spend their time complaining about the kids whilst pretending they can fish, play cards etc. if only I let him out at night Grin

Love it!
Is it over now though...they had one of those 'making of..' things on last night.
Can't get over Steeve Coogan as Mr rich lecherous guy - I didn't realise it was him for ages. Brilliant.

I love this too, it's one of the few programmes that makes me laugh. I did wonder if you have to be Irish to 'get' it though? Having grown up here in the 70s and 80s I find it hilarious, esp the snippets of the Gay Byrne Show theme Grin

Love Deirdre O'Kane and Chris O'Dowd. I am always surprised at how handsome he is, there is definitely something about him. I noticed it's directed by Declan Lowney who used to do Father Ted.

I have also been watching. Found it really funny. And not deliberately so, nothing was forced for amusements sake it was all done so beautifully.

I didn't get all the Irish references but still found it funny. There is a Father Ted feel about it but it's not as surreal.
