The all new Corrie thread NO SPOILERS PLEASE!

I remember in th'olden days when there were no spoilers. The nation had no idea whether Deidre would choose to stay with Ken or do a runner with Mike Baldwin until it was actually broadcast. And we didn't know who shot JR.

So for those of us with no life who enjoy Corrie without spoilers, a new thread discuss our beloved soap with all its flaws Grin

I'll join you! Does spoil it a bit when you know what's coming. Until then I can wish the worst for Terry, but not know anything! Grin

. Absolutely hate spoilers too. Have missed a couple of episodes this week though, what's happened with the baby? Why might Julie have to have both ovaries out?

Report
savoycabbage · 05/05/2012 11:38

She went for her twelve week scan and she wasn't pregnant and they told her she had had a false positive test.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 05/05/2012 11:39

That's a bit odd, how do you get one of those then?

Report
PoorAudreyHorseface · 05/05/2012 11:43

She's had both ovaries removed Sad though haven't said if the growths were benign or not (I think). She told her partner (whose name escapes me) to leave her now because she can't have kids - did the scriptwriters forget that he's had a vasectomy?

The growth on her ovary affected her hormone balance.

Ah, well never heard of that one before and I thought all the odd things that could happen in pregnancy had already happened to us!

Julie: 'How long will I have to wait for the operation?'
Dishy Doc: 'Well as luck would have it there's been a cancellation and they can see you tomorrow!'
If only it was that easy in RL!
Thanks for starting the thread, OP. Fellow spoiler-hater here!

No he hasnt got any children. When Julie thought she was pregnant and he went to see the doctor because of his vasectomy did he tell him a vasectomy can fail or did he test to see if it had failed? I wonder where this storyline will go eg adoption or egg donor. I can't imagine Julie will just give up on having a child.

Aquilla · 06/05/2012 01:09

Yes, it's going to be a rather tricky loose end, considering the adoption/fostering thing has already been 'done' with Moody Faye.

I thought she could offer to have Baby Jack!

Oooh I'll join this thread! Love a bit of Corrie. Also hate spoilers though - can't believe how many of my friends still say to me "ooh did you hear so-and-so is going to die/leave/go to prison" etc and they KNOW I don't like to know - I even mute trailers!!

Excited about this week though as I think it's on every day this week isn't it? (Again muted trailer so might be wrong!!)

I think Brian is really quite funny, even DH laughs at him. I am SO RELIEVED that Rosie has left. V bored with fireman storyline. x

Frilly, the dr told Brian that it was possible it failed & Brian believed that & wasn't tested (as far as I can remember!). Grin

Why has Brian had a vasectomy if he doesn't have any children? I must have imagined an older child somewhere because I was convinced he had one.

Report
janesnowdon1 · 06/05/2012 11:38

Brian's first wife did not want to have children - so he agreed to have a vasectomy.

Am I right in understanding that Julie had her scan, they told her in the hospital that there were complications. She then had to go to her GP to get the details, who then arranged an op for her in 24 hours?!? So true to life! At least we got to see Marcus actually doing some work. He must have taken thingy Platt's job of being the one who deals with all Coronation St admissions!

ajandjjmum · 06/05/2012 14:19

I had to smile at Marcus being readily available whenever Brian and Julie needed him - clearly not so busy in the NHS after all! Grin

Martin Platt now runs a very successful cheese business!! (in real life, not a subplot)

In my mind's eye Martin Platt and Marcus are very similar looking.

Report
LeeCoakley · 06/05/2012 14:49

Scrub that! Nothing like each other really! Whilst googling came across Corriepedia - very in depth bios of all the characters. I didn't realised Marcus was played by someone else, then this actor took over when he came back last year. Also Martin Platt's actor refused to play a dodgy role so that's why he was written out.

Daren't spend any more time on there otherwise nothing will get done!

Oh yes, an op within 24 hours, wouldn't that be lovely instead of making sure you have a bag packed with you and refusing to leave the hospital. Not as I've ever resorted done that obviously.
