I hate Baby Jake with that freaky looking rabbit and all that and the stupid baby talk, my son is almost 2 I don't want him running around going goggey-gee-ah etc which he's just started to do.

get rid of the thing and replace it with more Abney and Teal instead.

you could just not let him watch it if you dislike it?

I hate to say it, but although baby Jake is the scariest and freakiest thing eveeeeeer, my son is in love with him.
Proper love.
Probably as much as he loves me.

baby jake is shit. excuse my language. even my 3 year old thinks he is crap. Its a cheap, unimaginative program put on cbeebies just to bide time. I cant believe how crap it actually is. Ive banned cbeebies and make my ds watch citv, he loves cat in the hat better.

Have you seen the Baby Jake toys? They are even more scary than the actual programme (which is pretty damn scary itself)!

Sadly DS and DD1 have started calling DD2 "gaggy" after watching Baby Jake. Yuk.

Sadly Baby jake is on in between two shows he loves so he tends to see it, he has no interest in Abney and Teal Sad, I'm the one that watches that.

He watched something called the lingo show the other day, teaches Chinese, he just looked very confused by it all.

Every episode is practically the same! Cheap tv. Also, it really annoys me how they start by saying 'This is a house with lots of windows'! It's a windmill fgs!

My dc1 (3) is bored of cbeebies now hurrah and moved on to citv so I am no longer subjected to this torture. Tho I still have flashbacks of grandad tumble and wake up in a cold sweat....

I kid. I wouldnt go as far as saying i HATE any program on cbeebies, toddlers love it. Nor would I bitch about presenters, the way katie gets slated on mn occasionally is really mean.

DS2 loves it. He's 2 and 3 months and even he knows it's nonsense that baby jake talks. Doesn't make it a shit programme. The Lingo Show teaches Chinese. Id be no more delighted at ds2 speaking Chinese than saying goggy gee ah, as he has no clue what any of it means, regardless if whether it's a real language or just made up.
And I'd rather he watched cbeebies than ANY channel with brainwashing adverts for 4mins between each programme

Yes I agree kissit

Also people said the same about the Telly Tubbies and THAT generation has not grown going "flubble" or whatever.

Strangely there wasn't a t.V. programme where they spoke in jamaican patios Grin

People that moan about this, are the kind of people that would ring up and get the presenter's sacked for only having half a arm, and that's sad, and disgusting, your teaching your children to discriminate at a young age for peoples looks or disabilities, your not protecting them you bringing them up to be judgemental, shallow individual, if not a bully,I fill sorry for the kids

Hadn't noticed the date of OP.

I've always wondered why posters dig up year(s) old threads esp such trivial ones.

I cannot believe people/adults are addressing a children's program as 'shit' my son enjoys watching baby jake, it helps his imagination in many ways. In fact it associates family time at the start, animals with correct behavior and not talking to you. Also jake shows other children different imagination patterns. Any program that promotes my sons ability to enjoy family time as a child not a 2 year old adult.. It is brilliant for kids that don't have the concentration skills to get imaginative with books, maybe sit with a scone and some jam, cup of tea perhaps and indulge in some fiction.. they are 2 let them be kids.. or let them watch Murder she wrote..

Baby Jake is awful! Having said that I hate Abney and Teal too, smug Topsy and Tim and bloody Bing bunny the whiny little shit! And don't get me started on In the Night Garden! Give me Boj, the Octonauts or the Twirlywoos any day.
