I did really enjoy Mary singing as she left the courtroom. I think she's channelling Blanche.

No, as an estate agent I didn't find the comment funny only because I know what is coming in the storyline and it is a big fear for me and the staff who work for me and do viewings. Sorry if that sounds dramatic but it is a danger.

It was just the way he panicked and said the first thing he saw never mind how ridiculous it sounded, further confirming him as the most inept criminal ever. I wasn't aware of the Suzy Lamplugh case, it was a bit before my time as I was born in the early 80s, didn't mean to cause offence to anyone, sorry.

I remember the Suzy Lamplugh case - horrible story (her mum who did so much work for improving safety for women died recently).
But that surely can't mean we can't be amused by the Mr Chips line?

Good point, meditrina, hadn't realised what was going to happen. I remember the Suzy Lamplugh case too, but had forgotten the name Kipper, and do now think this was intended to be sinister.

Having now read the spoilers, it's clear that Corrie has (once again) lost the plot. But it just sounds pathetic and dire. And if they're going to have an almost throw-away line which drags up a feature of a notorious murder, it doesn't give confidence it will be well written either.

I think Mary is about the only thing worth watching for. (Roy's mother nearly back on course, after the pathetic stuff she got earlier).

Kipper and Chips? Not exactly a well known phrase is it? (or am I missing something? )

I didn't mean it as a conjoined idiom! Just as ideas that fit well - fish and chips? (Or ORT characters, if we're thinking of teachers)

And I did acknowledge that they could have been aiming at the teacher in my first post.

But with the upcoming storyline, the similarities to the disappearance of Suzy Lamplugh have to be the dominant association.

I wonder if either her family (as the case is still open) or the Foundation, were consulted about this storyline?
