I can't believe that I avoided the first series.

My colleague raved about the first series and I nodded polietly but refused to watched because I find Ricky Gervais's screen persona a complete pain.

I also didn't understand the premise of the programme.

However I have watched it this time round and I love it!!!

Karl Pilkington is fab in his miserableness. Ds1 and I just howl laughing watching him.

Love it!! Anyone else

Haven't seen it, presumably it's the second series.
I bought the first series on DVD and haven't seen all of them. DD (10.5) adores karl Pilkington and was very excited to find out he comes from Manchester whcih is about 10 miles away.
I think she thinks she'll bump into him in Tesco.
I must see if our local library can get it for me.

I love it too!

My brother got me into it and I'm so glad he did :)

Karl is so funny because he's just so normal. I love last weeks episode with the shark, ha!

You MUST try to see the 1st series, its brilliant.
He moans about going to one of the 7 wonders of the world... pyramids n Cairo, and seeing shitty nappies swirling around his head, it made my sides ache from laughing.

He is just like the bloke next door isnt he. Brilliant.
Cock n bollocks also makes me laugh allot!

I intend to catch up now!

My ex colleague was in stiches telling me about it but I couldn't get past Ricky gervais's input.
And to be fair he isn't so bad in it and it is Steve Merchant that grates!!!

If it is the same as series one, RG and love god Merchant are only in it for about 3 minutes at the beginning then sporadically they phone him.
I have always suspected that Karl is not as daft or ignorant as he makes out. Even when I was listening to the podcasts years ago.
I have to say he is game, there's no way I could have eaten toad the way he did in China.

I loved the 1st series, but this 2nd series does not seem any where near as good IMO

Me and DS2 hugely suspect that Karl Pilkington isn't as daft as he is cabbage looking.
I wouldn't be suprised if it was hugely scripted but it doesn't take away how much it makes us laugh.
It's a joy to be with my two DS's as they nearly fall off the settee laughing that much!

who cares if it's scripted it's really funny and i'd like to see more

it's only one of about three things that are good on tv at the moment imo

however they should ditch ricky and that lanky bloke calling him up, they really irk me now

I agree with every word you typed souteastastra!

The only thing that has made me laugh by Ricky Gervais was when Karl said he couldn't imagine going up Kilimanjaro on his death bed and Gervais explained the bucket list wasn't things to do minutes before you die!!

That is the only thing in Gervais career that has made me laugh and I still laugh thinking about it.

Merchant comes accross as a smug git and really annoying and I just want to fast forward when he is on the screen.
Karl is pure comdey gold.

I think what is funny about Karl is that he comes across as most miserable Nothern gits I know who don't like change. (I'm a Northern lass by the way!)

He's had some fab expierences! I am sooo envious.
