a bonkers project.
but kinda cool.

ColdSancerre Wed 28-Sep-11 21:27:51

Love it, just like you say, bonkers but cool and how great in a mad way is the guy doing it.

Oh I heart GD. I don't watch much tv and really look forward to this.

Only just switched it on .....looks like the whole thing could slide into the sea .

spiderbabymum Wed 28-Sep-11 21:55:22

pretty impressive

ColdSancerre Wed 28-Sep-11 22:03:40

I do like that GD. Well done them!

mousymouse Wed 28-Sep-11 22:09:31

what a result.
I'm a teeny weeny bit jealous.
but would be scared witless not be able to sleep there during a storm.

PricklyThistle Wed 28-Sep-11 22:24:13

My mum phoned in the middle of it, so I missed a lot of the detail, and was wondering what the MN jury thought! Not a lot of comments tonight.

I loved it! Nice couple, and what they did was amazing.

pastawine Wed 28-Sep-11 22:25:41

I liked but he stayed tight lipped on how much it cost didn't he! I'm vare curious!

Was absolutely fantastic .... I don't often want to move into the Grand Design homes, though I can usually admire some aspect of most of them, but I'd go there like a shot. Should think that looking out all warm and cosy with a storm raging outside would be wonderful actually !

but on another thread re awful celebs.....someone posted that Kevin Mc was awful and arrogant in RL and now my heart is broken smile

mousymouse Sat 01-Oct-11 11:50:04

I really liked the layout/space they have created.
great use of space.
could see this on akward slopy sites as well.

ColdSancerre Wed 05-Oct-11 21:12:11

This week!

Lovely barn and design, but quite an intense couple. Or as DP said 'she's a bit barmy'.

But they have quite a large budget for not needing to buy the land.

Tigresswoods Wed 05-Oct-11 21:13:12

And now I want to fast forward to the final 15 minutes.

I really don't like her. She wants it to be different but she can't say why, it's like she just wants everyone to look at her and exclaim over how unique she is. And she hates the countryside.

He seems a lot more committed.

HoldMeCloserTonyDanza Wed 05-Oct-11 21:28:46

Yes she couldn't bear to live in an ordinary house hmm

She's too special and unique!

ColdSancerre Wed 05-Oct-11 21:49:07

Now she doesn't want her unique house, or at least just wants to whinge about having .

I do think GD always seem to go out of their way to show the true side if not good side of those doing the build. It has never come over as a paint them as evil and twist their words type of program, so I do assume what you see is what you get. And what I see is someone who isn't very likeable and won't stay there long.

mousymouse Wed 05-Oct-11 21:50:30

waiting for the big reveal.
I like the roof and the silos. but the rest? great space but not for living...
am thinking of possible 'bad mil' threads from living with the pil for so long grin

mistressploppy Wed 05-Oct-11 21:51:14

Yes, yes, ColdSancerre (drooling over your name btw) that's exactly the feeling I get about her

mousymouse Wed 05-Oct-11 21:51:57

museum is the right term...

Don't like.

mousymouse Wed 05-Oct-11 21:56:57

I like it but wouldn't want to have to clean live there
