Well I see schoolhasn't changed...

Georgimama Thu 22-Sep-11 21:13:03

Me! I was just about to start this thread but you beat me to it.

I am a bit shocked actually. Some of these kids seem feral...

Feargalthecat Thu 22-Sep-11 21:16:04

Me! Liking it already, the girl with the head teacher is so like Catherine Tate's Lauren character, the kids seem to give far more lip than when I was at school thought <in the dark ages>

ShutchaBoat Thu 22-Sep-11 21:16:06

I just started watching it. It is nowhere near as bad as some of the schools I have worked in...and most of them were 'good' schools grin

KittyWalker Thu 22-Sep-11 21:17:55

I'm loving him!

Georgimama Thu 22-Sep-11 21:18:14

Yes, the amount of lip is pretty shocking.

NormanTebbit Thu 22-Sep-11 21:18:38

The teachers seem to make alot more effort to entertaining.. MyGCSE historywas spent staring at a textbook grin

NormanTebbit Thu 22-Sep-11 21:20:00

And we never got cake

Georgimama Thu 22-Sep-11 21:20:23

My history teacher was a god. We all loved him and I was delighted to find that when he retired a couple of years ago his current pupils started a facebook page in his praise.

Georgimama Thu 22-Sep-11 21:21:16

Mind you another history teacher married a girl in my year. Bet that doesn't happen in this programme....

bruffin Thu 22-Sep-11 21:22:05

I work in harlow and my friends children go there and has one in yr 11.
Apparently Mr drew is legend but she is dreading watching it as she is worried about the picture of the school it will paint

KittyWalker Thu 22-Sep-11 21:22:18

DH is convinced this is a it?

malinois Thu 22-Sep-11 21:23:16

Started another thread <sigh> It's not real though is it? It's a spoof like The Office.

MaureenMLove Thu 22-Sep-11 21:24:16

Well, if your DH thinks it's a spoof, then the south of the river school that I work at is a spoof every day! winkgrin

NormanTebbit Thu 22-Sep-11 21:26:34

I think it seems like a very warm friendly school. Why a spoof? It all seems quite normal

Riveninabingle Thu 22-Sep-11 21:28:30

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

SlackSally Thu 22-Sep-11 21:28:46

Agree, Norman. This is pretty tame compared to one school in particular I worked at.

renaldo Thu 22-Sep-11 21:29:03

Has to be a spoof -

renaldo Thu 22-Sep-11 21:30:15

Seriously - how are they allowed phones in school?

Georgimama Thu 22-Sep-11 21:30:22

38? Poor sod has had a hard life then. Looks at least 45.

malinois Thu 22-Sep-11 21:31:37

NT Normal???? I admit I haven't been in a secondary school since 198<ahem> but surely modern schools aren't really like this? Really??

<looks at possibility of emigrating to Germany before DS reaches school age>

prizeelliott Thu 22-Sep-11 21:31:55

He's lovely!!

SlackSally Thu 22-Sep-11 21:31:59

They aren't allowed them, which is why they're confiscated if they're seen.

In a school that size you couldn't check everyone's bag.

Ifancyashandy Thu 22-Sep-11 21:32:25

It's not a spoof. I know someone who worked on it. That Dep Head is amazing!

ShutchaBoat Thu 22-Sep-11 21:32:40

He's a fantastic teacher and leader. The kids in that school are very lucky.
