Victoria Coren isn't as clever as she thinks she is. I remember seeing her on Question Time and it was plainly evident that she'd thought that last-minute cramming would carry her through on the day.

Maybe if you have an expensive education and a famous dad that's the safest route to take, but it doesn't always work out - does it Vicky, love?

I like Only Connect and I do feel smug pleased when I can work out a reasonable number of the questions.

And I won't hear a word said against Victoria Coren. Funny, smart and beautiful - what's not to like?

Giles seems like the sort of person I would like to be a friend of a friend. I'd like to see him 2-3 times a year at parties, where he would be very entertaining but I would at the end of the evening be a little bit glad that I didn't see him all the time.

His real wife (Esther) and pretend wife (Sue) are both fab (I am led to believe by TV and the internets) and their liking him greatly increases my regard for him.

I like Only Conect because if I get even one I get to feel very smug and pleased with myself. Huge I know what you mean about verbal reasoning tests, except presumably a fair verbal reasoning test would have far less specific knowledge of children's books and poker hands and how Winston Churchill referred to his depression as a "Black Dog".
