Vagn was Mette's boyfriend in high school. He bought her the black heart necklace, then must have taken it when he killed her and kept it as a souvenir.
He said "we all loved her" (Nanna), he was in love with her and after they argued at the flat he raped her. His real character then took over I guess and he took her to the empty house.
I was disappointed, I have to admit. After a long, slow build up the denouement was very brief.

1. How did he Vagn get the keys to the car?
   
2. Where was his car left?
   
3. How did nobody spot them leaving the flat - Nanna was still alive at this point, why didn't she scream blue murder?
   
4. Mette was 19 when she died, 15 years ago meaning she would be 34 if she was still alive- Vagn is much older than 34 even though he was supposed to have been in the same year as Mette and Theis said he'd known Vagn for 20 years.
   
5. How did he get her from the house to the woods with nobody spotting them? Why take her there alive?
   
6. It was a bit of a Scooby Doo ending - the creepy, shifty, obvious suspect did it.

Hi this is a bit nuts posting this after so long but I have just rewatched the killing and found this site!
But,please ignore if not interested..Vegn would have found the keys on the table in the flat where Lars had just left them,..just had a thought..how did he get back from the woods after driving the car into the lake....?!.he must have been missing for a while,I think he cld pass for 30 something ,he just has a worn unattractive face,Thanks for the info on the necklace,that was such a quick section of the story ,regarding the missing school photo..
