I see that series 2 is now available on DVD...

It's so creepy but at the same time compelling and BOB is terrifying!

Mmm, coffee and damn fine cherry pie with a great soundtrack and decorative cast...
Went to a TP marathon once, the whole lot in one weekend!

Bob crouching behind the sofa.... Leo and the empty wheelchair... Only a couple of moments that freaked the hell out of me!
You can now buy a boxset fo the whole series for about 30 pounds on Amazon. I've got it on my re-watch pile but it's so good I want to take the time to enjoy it.

I love the show. I remember watching it as a teenager when it was on BBC2 and loving it. I had to sit through the last ever episode with my mother though. She'd never seen it, didn't know what it was about and kept asking me what was going on. Every two minutes. It spoilt the experience for me, specially as I barely understood what was going on myself!

I've never had cherry pie in my life - perhaps I should try it. David Lynch is always a bit quirky though isn't he - I also like his film Blue Velvet.

An amazing show. Though I think it's a shame that Lynch caved in to pressure to resolve the murder case sooner than he'd originally intended. It's also a shame that the next series never got made, and we're left with the cliffhanger of whether Agent Cooper ever managed to rid himselves of the evil BOB that possessed him right at the end Shock

I like to think he did Grin

I used to love Twin Peaks. A former boss went on holiday to the area of America where it's set (north western/Oregon??) and brought me back a Twin Peaks t-shirt. Which was completely unexpected as he never even used to buy me anything at Christmas. Perhaps the Twin Peaks vibe affected him?

I was too young to watch it when it was first on TV, which did not stop me being obsessed. My dad had the sound track and I loved the music as well as all the pictures of the characters. I ended up watching fire walk with me (the film) when I was about eighteen. I also read Laura Palmers diary as a teenager. And I finally got to watch the whole two series last year. And they were fab. Think I will have too get the boxset now.

I love the music too! There is nothing else like it. Does anyone else think that mind control is one of the themes in this?

Oh count me in - my favourite TV show ever. EVER, DH got me the complete box set last Christmas and I watched it all within January. We used to watch it together in his bedroom when we were first going out (yes I am that old...)

BOB is the scariest thing ever to have been on telly. The screaming Laura scene in the red room at the end freaks me out so much I have to watch through half closed eyes iykwim....

I've never seen it, but now I think I may need to buy the boxset :o

David Lynch is peculiar.. I have watched his films 'Lost Highway' and 'Mulholland Drive' and didn't get either of them.

It's well worth watching - very different. My mum said she didn't understand it but I thought it does make sense so maybe I'm weird as well lol?

My friend and I went to see the film at the GFT when it was released.

As we were walking out, two guys beside us were discussing it and one turned to the other and said ' Do you think it'd have helped if we'd watched the series?'
Hmm

Oh yes. I was a teenager at the time and had to get my DM to check in my wardrobe and under my bed after some of the BOB episodes Blush

Used to walk up to my best friend's house to watch this in late teens. Often used to have to stay over as I was too scared to walk home. We never missed an episode and i remember buying cherry pies for a load of us to eat and watch the last one.

I don't think I could watch it now, would freak me out too much.

I loved Twin Peaks. It was very different to anything else on tv at the time. I have it all on my sky+ box, ready to start watching when we have finished watching Game of Thrones.I really loved the theme tune too, in fact, I have it on vinyl somewhere.

Its been 21 frickin' years and I am still scared of Bob.

TP was ace, but creeped me out and I should probably have turned it off, I was 16 at the time. I wouldn't watch it if it was repeated.

I can't look at red velvet curtains without getting the willies Blush.

I loved it. Inside, I've been trying to dress like Audrey Horne and walking around to her finger-clicking theme tune since I was 14.

Report
electra · 24/08/2011 13:58

Oh, I love Audrey - she's just so cool, isn't she. It's sad how her dad doesn't appreciate her :(

Or how her dad nearly did appreciate her down at One Eyed Jack's - cue 14-year-old mind boggling.

Do any of you watch Carnivale on Sky Atlantic?
It's in a similar vein not just because the little backwards talking man is in it, weird good and evil, supernatural freak show all rolled into one. Unfortunately it's a few year old and was dropped after 2 series but it's really good, great filming and interesting characters.

Not seen Carnivale. Will look it up.
Does anyone remember American Gothic? Another one that was ended abruptly.

I love it, though I only have series one. The characters are brilliant - remember the Log Lady?!

The bit where Bob crawls towards Laura Palmer as he is about to kill her freaked me out so badly. I watched it again on YouTube a while ago and was still terrified.
