Britains next top model. Don't you think our judges are bitchier than our American cousins?

Although I prefer our version, I've just remembered the dire final last year. That awful live show. I don't know who our judges think they are either.

Just got round to watching this on sky+

Terrible! (altho I'll prob still watch it)

Elle is SO up herself, I know she's uber gorgeous and has done well for herself, but she lords it about a bit! Not so keen on the other judges, much prefer Tara and her mob (Nigel, mmmmmh!)

They are quite vile aren't they? It looks so shabby compared to the US version. Who is the bloke anyway? I can't recall him being a successful model.

I don't understand why they're dragging the auditions out over so many episodes, I ended up fast forwarding most of the first episode (no amount of sob story-ing means you 'deserve' to strut down a room in France wearing a nice frock anymore than another person), also are there no British Supermodels who could've hosted this?
This is the first season I've watched so have no idea how long it's been going!
Much prefer the US version of the show.

I don't think Kate Moss would lower herself.

Yes, the auditions are very tedious and the judges are very patronising! I actually find EMcP very fake, and she's lost a shed load if weight too, like a lollipop with masses of hair and big glasses! not exactly a healthy role model!!

God yeah. That Grace whatserface is a right cow!

But don't you just love the nonsense. I stopped watching NTM for years and have only just come back to the fold.

Loved how the wannabes all wore big, clumpy hooker boots for the auditions. Not a glamorous pair of shoes among the lot of them!

True, there was some awful footwear and bikinis being worn!

Did you see the girl from Glasgow do some Highland dancing...? 'twas pitiful!!

Much prefer the US edition

I don't understand how they're dragging the auditions out over 3 episodes with not so much as a sniff of a themed boot camp yet! I miss the camp of the US version, ours takes itself a bit seriously.

I have heard of Charlie Speed before but I've only heard of Grace from shagging Matt Cardigan on last years X-Factor.

Noooooooooo, did she really?!! Would not have put them 'together'! She does seem to have smartened herself up from last year though.

I might just skip the next couple of weeks and start watching when they actually have the final 12 or whatever.

Bring on makeover week, my fave! Lots of tears and tantrums!

I wonder what the budget will be like for our makeover week? She has got better but she's still nasty. I don't like Mathew williamson either. I wouldve liked to have seen Erin O'Conner do. Mind you, I never knew what Lisa Snowdens qualifications were.

MW is pretty vile, and what in heavens has he done to his hair? Looks like a cross between a nasty accident with some sun-in and dreadlocks. He's a designer isn't he, for Debenhams?

In hindsight, Lisa Snowden was good. She was quite stern but not overly patronising. Im not aware if her being a Soooper model as such, but she did go out with George Cloony so must have been doing right/ in the right places!!!

Don't mind Charlie, he's quite easy on the eye and I wouldn't push him out of bed for eating biscuits, but again not overly aware of him for being famous

Prob a £40 budget for makeovers, so buzz cuts and peroxide all round!

So sorry MW Blush

Julien is a bitch though so well worth watching. Some of the stuff he used to say on Project Catwalk was hilarious. Said one female designer couldn't do anything because she was fat! Ben de Lisi was the mentor on PC & would have been a great judge here.

I loved Project Catwalk and Project Runway, wish they were back on. That was about real talent for a change!

That woman reminds me of Janet Street Porter but, without the humour. She's as miserable as sin.

I cant stand all the lifeline throwing, either.

I wouldn't mind the US version if any of them actually looked like models.
Or were young enough to be models- I mean who would pick a 23 year old? They do in this show and the US version. It's totally absurd.

The most realistic is the Australian version where the girls are actually teenagers who look like models.

Report
katkitya · 15/07/2011 19:44

Let's be honest, none of them are ever seen again are they? Remember the agency? You can't compare the girls on their books to the ones on this show.

Don't know about the UK show, but quite a few of the US ones have gone on to be working models. antm411.wordpress.com/

It's a shame about the age thing. In what world is 23 old?!

As a model? I dont think so. She went back to what she was always known as, a WAG. She was never model material anyway. Not tall enough.
