Baby Jake & Summer Song

Does anyone else think the makers of some of the CBeebies programmes are running out of ideas. Baby Jake seems to be a bit of a cop out, using a baby's head on an animated body, plus it's incredibly annoying.

Also, does anyone know why there is no CBeebies Summer Song, instead they seem to be showing the songs from The Green Balloon?

Mind you, my 2 year old seems mesmerised when Baby Jake does his babbling and squeals with delight. I find it annoying.

They could have just brought back the Battersea Park Summer song, even though it's a few years old.

I read on Twitter that they recorded a new summer song a few weeks ago.

Baby Jake is very odd. Is it meant to be set in a nursery or just a very large family? Dd loves it, however.

I read an article last week about Baby Jake. They were describing it as 'cutting edge' or something equally silly but it's a real life baby and his older brother apparently.

I've not seen it yet but ds2 (19 months) is fascinated by the adverts.

Have recorded Baby Jake and the kids are only just watching it for the first time this evening. DD (4) loves it and even DS (7) is saying he likes it.

Therefore it's a hit with me, it's getting harder to find programmes which they both like now. :)

DS1 watched Baby Jake this morning on iplayer - he is nearly 5. He loved it and asked me when it was on again! I thought it was quite a sweet little programme.

I think it is set in a very large family and I love the fact they named their children following the alphabet - genius

My DS3 aged 2½ loves Baby Jake. I even saw out of the corner of my eye DS1 (11) and DS2 (8) watching it. In fact DS2 ran around the house earlier this evening annoying me singing "goggy goo-ah" over and over again. Sigh.

I despise Baby Jake. It freaks me out and my (almost) 2 year old, who was very articulate and brilliant with her speech, is now walking around my house saying "goggy geeyah." Annoyed much.

It is very irritating but DS seems to like it. I find the "Baby Talk" very annoying, but the actual Baby is cute.

I prefer Show Me Show Me, it reminds me of Playschool, you can't beat Floella Benjamin!

Is the recycling song the one with bloody Lily-Rose singing "we're the children of tomorrow"? Surely they're the children of today? This really pisses me off. I seriously need to get out more.

Baby Jake - quite sweet, but what's with the 'goggy geeyah' - seriously - what is "yukky yukky yoggy, doo doo dee, bra bra bra, beep beep you'll see!" all about? Wtf? And the line 'hope you like to do it too' seems a bit desperate, but hey, it's better than 'i can cook', which the kids hate - DS3 (7 months) and DS2 (2) love it, so it can't be that bad!

Mollythulu - yes, why are the GBC children so ghastly-stage-schooly, when there are loads of 'normal' children on cbeebies who aren't? Lily-Rose is the one who annoys me the most, though I shouldn't say anything really, since when all's said and done, she's just a little girl with pushy parents, poor child.
