thenightsky Sun 05-Jun-11 23:31:48

crispyambulance Sun 05-Jun-11 23:32:47

slartybartfast Sun 05-Jun-11 23:33:28

thenightsky Sun 05-Jun-11 23:34:07

Well that's yer own fault for clicking on the thread. wink

ThatVikRinA22 Sun 05-Jun-11 23:36:45

well its all done in flashbacks so you know whats happened to her right from the beginning....

its a jolly good film and worth a watch. but it is terribly sad. got quite a satisfying, if sad, ending...

SpeedyGonzalez Sun 05-Jun-11 23:38:45

ooh, which channel? Love that film!

IdeopathicPruritusAni Sun 05-Jun-11 23:39:31

all I can remember is LOADS of different land rovers - there were definitely some earlier series land rovers but also newer discoveries and range rovers and some defenders

IdeopathicPruritusAni Sun 05-Jun-11 23:40:24

and a sad bit where a land rover is lying down on its side, dead, near some water sad

ThatVikRinA22 Sun 05-Jun-11 23:43:25

ITV....will be on plus 1 aswell....

i so wish he hadnt got the wrong end of the stick, i wish he had known what she was doing before she died....its so sad...sad

ThatVikRinA22 Sun 05-Jun-11 23:44:13

land rovers??

um. thats not what i took from the film!

crispyambulance Sun 05-Jun-11 23:44:54

was going to say the landrovers sound dull grin

IdeopathicPruritusAni Sun 05-Jun-11 23:46:58

obviously there is also the evil pharmaceuticals and the dead woman and everything (argh, and their baby) but think it came out during height of my land rover obsession

Close encounters of the 3rd kind STARTS with a series one land rover in the mist, its beautiful (there are also some aliens, later)

IdeopathicPruritusAni Sun 05-Jun-11 23:48:17

I dropped this apostrophe '

fucking iPad adds them when they are not needed and deletes them when I want them

elphabadefiesgravity Sun 05-Jun-11 23:49:14

I'm off to bed now but can someone post a spoiler for me so I know how it ends - I can't stay up and watch I'm so tired.

crispyambulance Sun 05-Jun-11 23:49:20

have you got a list of your favourite landrover films ipa?grin

IdeopathicPruritusAni Sun 05-Jun-11 23:51:33

My least favourite one was probably casino royale - if that is the one where a nice shiny defender falls down a cliff at the beginning?

Haven't really got a favourite land rover film YET, my obsession fizzled out a bit but seems to be surging back!

IdeopathicPruritusAni Sun 05-Jun-11 23:52:57

Oh what am I talking about, of course I have a favourite - the gods must be crazy! It's the ultimate land rover film!

SpeedyGonzalez Sun 05-Jun-11 23:53:41

Thanks Vicar, I'll check the +1 right away!

crispyambulance Sun 05-Jun-11 23:54:19

born free? grin

southofthethames Sun 05-Jun-11 23:56:02

Didn't find it that sad when it first came out in the cinema, because you kind of know it's not a jolly comedy anyway, from all the flashbacks. Fiennes is quite good in it, not just Weisz.

IdeopathicPruritusAni Sun 05-Jun-11 23:56:04

Welling up just thinking about the theme tune. No not born free - 'the gods must be crazy'

am looking for link

the land rover was called the Antichrist I think

ThatVikRinA22 Sun 05-Jun-11 23:58:39

spoiler alert coming up....
