I had never seen the episode!

The one with Monica's thunder - everyone keeps doing amazing things (Ross and Rachel kiss etc) and stealing her thunder at her engagement celebration!

Sadly I cam into it halfway thru so missed the start (it was E4+1 as well) but still - amazing or what!

Most Friends episodes I know so well I can quote em word for eord. This one actually got a couple of totally new laughs!

I have now, but there are definitely ones that aren't repeated on E4 that often - for example the one where they have a birthday party for Rachel, but because her mum and dad get invited, there ends up being two parties.

My favourite episode that still makes me laugh is the on just after Emma is bor...with Joey and the 'Oooops....?'

I was over the moon when DH bought me the boxset and there are unseen scenes on there. Randomly in the middle of an episode, something you've never seen before.

I've seen them all many, many times.

Ah yes- I remember your searing critique of how creepy Ross actually is, Showy Wink. Tell us again- it is like Friends Revisionism, I loved it [grin.

I love Friends, but I think some episodes are sneaky and hide.
The one that hides from me is the one when Chandler and Ross go to Vermont and take all the maple candy.
OK, I've seen it, but not that many times.
I can quote the rest!

I love fat Monica and Pivot.

Yes!!! I hadn't noticed that thunder episode before. I wonder how long E4 will keep the whole of Friends on a loop. I always manage to see the very last episode then tune in for the very first one the next day. I'll miss it if they take it off - if there's nothing else on of an evening, at least there's always a couple of Friends episodes to watch.

I've got a feeling that E4 are stopping showing it sometime next year.

Sadness.

I have the DVD boxset - I will have to get off my big behind sofa swap discs every so often.

Huge fan here - I do believe I've seen them all - but joy of joys I haven't seen any DVDs extras. Yippee - every cloud and all that.

Xmas Wink

There is no theory. He's bloody awful. Not at first maybe but then don't they all start off seeming normal?

He was obsessed with Rachel and unable to have a normal relationship with her because of it. He was at best clingy, at worst abusive. He dismissed her goals and her work as trivial, he turned up at her office making scenes, he insisted on accompanying her on a work trip to prevent her having an affair, he accused her of having an affair on numerous occasions. She tried to make the relationship work, he wrongly assumed she was having an affair despite all sense and denial on Rachel's part, shagged somebody else, lied about it, told her he only did it because he thought she was having an affair, making it her fault entirely, mocked her, never, ever apologised properly, told Carol and god knows who else she had had an affair and left him. They got back together briefly and he lied about having read her letter, accepted no responsibility, led her on. Later he started hiding messages from her, leading on other innocent women to make her jealous, bribing her boss to change her career plans yet again. There's so much more, that's just what springs to mind to start with.

He was manipulative, controlling, bullying, possessive, cruel etc and it was all hidden behind the odd romantic gesture and apparent self esteem issues. Oh and hilarious rage problems and screaming in the face of his dates and lying to Mona about Rachel and giving her a key then changing the locks. It goes on and on and on...

The guy was a twat.

Oh CTR.. you have to watch the outtakes.

SO funny.

Shows Phoebe's scenes in a whole new light - you can tell where she really is having an episode of hystericals but they decided to keep cameras running Grin She's a RL giggler

And see my link above re end date

Perking Hell Showy.

Was that a dissertation?

I'll just add to that:

He's much hotter in RL than on the screen.

Yes, that is exactly what Ross was like. But cunningly disguised by comedy.

i never liked ross. all the things SOH posted i can recognise in Exes' behaviours. yet the veil of comedy makes it seem totally acceptable and normalises for soooo many women.

SoH, you're absolutely right.

It is real life. I can see the people through the magic window in the corner.

They just all ended up as caricatures. Ross was sweet once upon a time for example. Phoebe went from quirky to mean, Joey from rather lovable to one dimensional id vessel.

But Ross was a nasty bastard and that just wasn't funny.
