Am watching. Anyone else?

Nice hat.

Merrylegs Tue 02-Nov-10 20:03:59

She's on? Hooray! Will be back...

CommanderDrool Tue 02-Nov-10 20:04:56

£28 for a wire basket?

SummerHeightsHigh Tue 02-Nov-10 20:06:23

I LOVE Kirstie but...

I would love to have a beautiful house full of old, vintage trinkets etc but I can't afford it so I have a house of flat pack.

mollymax Tue 02-Nov-10 20:06:26

Thanks for reminding me. I forgot she was on today.
Have just sky+ it.

CommanderDrool Tue 02-Nov-10 20:08:14

Same here.

How much money do these people have?

CommanderDrool Tue 02-Nov-10 20:08:43

It is a beautiful house. Sigh.

Jaquelinehyde Tue 02-Nov-10 20:10:06

Oooh I've got it sky+ed as I'm watching the professional masterchef final.

thelunar66 Tue 02-Nov-10 20:10:10

I just knew there would be a Kirstie thread tonight!

CommanderDrool Tue 02-Nov-10 20:10:32

She's losing me folks

zisforzebra Tue 02-Nov-10 20:11:15

I'm going to watch it on C4+1 because of the Masterchef final on two. I pretty much only watch it to a) nick ideas and b) to say "How much!" everytime she picks up one of her 'bargains' grin

I did hear her on Woman's Hour last week though and she came over very well.

BitOfFawkes Tue 02-Nov-10 20:11:27

I'd love to do this stained glass thing.

CommanderDrool Tue 02-Nov-10 20:12:10

Oh fuck

Masterchef! Sorry guys.

<gets coat. Turns over>

SummerHeightsHigh Tue 02-Nov-10 20:12:34

Its a beautiful house, maybe if I could afford a house like that I could afford to make my own stained glass window...

I wish Kirstie would do some cheaper things so her ideas were more accessible.

jewelsforxmasplease Tue 02-Nov-10 20:13:00

she is the nigella of house things....smug but lovely!

Merrylegs Tue 02-Nov-10 20:19:24

Hmm. It's no fun when it's not her own house. Last year's conceit worked better I feel. This is a bit too random. She is still stunning though, but don't think even Kirstie's fragrant loveliness will make this watchable.

icapturethecastle Tue 02-Nov-10 20:21:35

just marking as going to watch on +1 and like to read the funny comments as I go

BitOfFawkes Tue 02-Nov-10 20:25:28

I hope Kirstie never goes into accounting shock

BitOfFawkes Tue 02-Nov-10 20:26:37

Swedish linen = Ikea fabric?

PictureThis Tue 02-Nov-10 20:28:13

I wondered that too BOF

SummerHeightsHigh Tue 02-Nov-10 20:29:43

I have the know how to make my own curtains but by the time I have bought a sewing machine capable of going through curtain fabric, all the other haberdashery bits and pieces and the fabric and the lining fabric etc etc it is cheaper to buy ready made curtains.

Yes, it has less soul, but its cheaper.

Sorry to bang on about it but its just so annoying to make it sound like if we follow her tips we'll save money instead of, god forbid, buying something from an 'out of town shop'.

SummerHeightsHigh Tue 02-Nov-10 20:31:15

I doubt they are a tenth of the price of mine!

PictureThis Tue 02-Nov-10 20:31:51

I'm scared of sewing machines, they seem to take on a life of their own as soon as my foot touches the pedal!! Shop bought all the way for me therefore.

glasjam Tue 02-Nov-10 20:49:17

Oh God it's like Kirsty-meets-Cash-in-the-Attic-and-Bargain-Hunt!! The banter with and between the "punters" is excruciating!!

Fantastic house though. They've done well having Kirsty come and work her "magic" (or should I reserve judgement until she's finished?)

Craig - "It's actually making me quite speechless"... I wish.

watfordmummy Tue 02-Nov-10 20:52:13

I've done stain glass before and watching tonight makes me want to again, but I live in a souless box, and think it make look out of place. sad
