I am wondering? Becasue I, quite frankly, haven't got a clue what's going on there any more

It is all very weird. Hate the fact that Lucas is now going to be a baddie (and probably out of the show at the end of the series).

im just not invested in this team of spooks as i have been previously. i hope they get a good cast soon

me neither hewllmouthcustardo. I miss Roz. And Ive not found Lucas/John to be as engaging or as reaistic a character. Tom was my favourite Spook.

That said, Harry is still wonderful, and I quite like Demitri.

It's turning into a bit of a formula now isn't it, no sooner do you "connect" with the character then he's off.

Great stories, but I could do without the back story for Lucas, it just gets in the way, one of the things I liked about it at the beginning was that there was very little personal stuff. Ho hum - anyone have any ideas who'll be in next?!

Custy - I think that's the problem, I don't care any more, and I love Richard Armitage, but I have no interest in this series at all.

As DH says - if he "isn't" Lucas, then there's no way he would get into the secret services, due to all teh checks.
Although he does also think that Harry knows all what's going on with johnlucas and limping man, and has sanctioned it all

saltaire i agree with your DH. i think Harry knows and that is why he was so cross with Ruth for spying on Lucas, and why (in the clip from next week) Malcolm (yay Malcolm's back!) seemed very matter of fact about Lucas coming to see him. Also how did Malcolm manage to get his house packed up so quickly?? He had to have help from "five" and thus had to reveal what had happended. I do wish Ruth and Harry would get together though...

Note to self: get a life!!

Be a hobbit?! He'd be a great Aragorn...

The house could have been just one room, set up to make the house look inhabited, couldn't it?

I was glad to see Malcolm back too - perhaps we can have Tom back too [hopeful]!

PS - I see Lucas as more of a Boromir - supposed goody, goes bad but comes good in the end, brooding type.

It turns out he's playing Thorin... ??!

I must be getting old because I have to watch an episode of spooks twice to keep up.

We got really confused this week as we sky plus them and watched 2 out of order.

They are "over-plotted" these days. What would have been sufficient material for an episode in 2002 no longer is. Last night's, with just two strands going on, was one of the least complex.

How did the Hacker Babe hear the name "Albany"? I thought she was in the boot when Lucas used it on the phone to Vaughn.

HauntingTheTardis · 26/10/2010 11:13

I thought she heard it when she was peeping in through the window at Lucas and Malcolm.

Report
UnquietDad · 26/10/2010 11:14

Haunting - I wondered that too, but thought she could only see them, not hear.

Report
aquamortis · 26/10/2010 11:16

UQD she heard it when she got out of the car at Malcolm's house and watched them through the window

I do not like Lucas much but there will probably be some kind of redemption won't there, as per usual

I also thought it was unlikely that there would be no surveillance at all in the toilets. They're surely the ideal place for clandestine conversations.

A bit like last year when Connie slit Ben's throat - the archives being completely un-monitored seemed very implausible.

sorry x-post

perhaps she could lipread

that would be one of the least unlikely things about the recent storylines (grumble, grumble)

I think it is best to suspend your disbelief when watching spooks and accept that even MI5 agents need to go to the loo/put on lipstick/read top secret documents in PRIVATE

Sophia Myles is very good though isn't she?

I find myself wondering stuff like where they all go for lunch - is there a Spooks canteen? And who does the bin-emptying and cleans their computer screens - are they all vetted? I suppose they must be.

aquamortis · 26/10/2010 11:58

Ah see I've been thinking this last series was a bit pants, but I'm loving the Ruth-Harry tension, and the fact that malcolm is back (although how did he move an ENTIRE HOUSE in one afternoon? SEriously, it's been 2 months since we moved and I still have no idea what's in any boxes!).

Ros isn't dead is she? They just fake-buried her? So she could come back too...

they fake buried her near where they fake buried adam, who is also going to come back but being all hard and MI6-ish like he was at first, before we found out about wives and children and whatnot (am in complete denial about Adam's son, that scene with him and Harry was too awful)

also delighted to see malcolm back, the non-op characters have always been great. Colin being killed was such a brilliant shock (morbid)

I love the fact the nation's entire security depends on only six people, three of whom are under 30 and that they appear to employ no PAs or administrative staff whatsoever, Cameron must be proud of the efficiency of the department.

You never see them going on a lunch break... even Torchwood ordered pizza!
