Does anyone have any great ideas please. I want to do a really really special 13th birthday party for DD. She will want to invite around 30 or so people and I would like to make it a night to remember. Suggestions would be really appreciated

I will need a venue, and would like it to be quite smart. A friend did a prom one but not many of the guests actually stuck to the dress code. Fancy dress?

Will it be just girls, or boys too? Will make a difference to the sorts of things you can do, I guess.

YOu could do a colour theme - black and white, or something?

Can you book a posh meal somewhere and ask them to close off part of it for a disco afterwards, hire a band/ dj. Hire a limo to escort her and bezzies to the venue.

Have a really special cake made.

Really, TMMJ, I thought it would be great fun. Yes I was thinking of hiring out part of a restaurant with dancefloor etc already. Just wondered if anyone had any really unusual ideas. It will be boys and girls, Herts area.

TMMJ, I know what you mean but 12/13yr olds are so mature and confident these days, they grow up very fast. I have asked DD what she would like to do but she said she 'did'nt know'.

you could theme the party..not fancy dress as such, but say a theme of "the oscars" and go glam, or "eastenders" and go all cockney, or "the charts" and go a bit bling kind of thing....
how about your own awards ceremoney.....make sure evryone has an award...print off certificates and have your own award tropheys (gold easter eggs???) do funkiest hair, funniest boy, funniest girl, best couple, most stylish, biggest drama queen, loyalest friend, wildest friend, chattiest friend etc....
i think budget will play a big part.....
local to me there is a fab restaurant that does a simple sort of menu, then clears away all the tables and does party games (for adults!!) the do limbo, dancing competitions, hypnotism, party tricks etc..... maybe there is something similar near you???

i know the teens i work with just love dolling up for an event!

good luck. sounds fab!!!

Oscars sort of thing sounds pretty good. I think finding a great venue might prove the most difficult.

Just had a word with my 14yodd and she said she'd have loved a fleet of limos to take her and her friends to the cinema, a ride round town and then on for a meal somewhere.... with fizzy drinks (looking like champagne).
