Pocket money

Just having a debate with my nearly 13 year old about what the going rate is for pocket money and what they have to do for it.

What do you do in your family?

My 14yo gets £20/month. She does not have to earn it, she gets it because she deserves some money of her own to buy things she fancies, to save or to spend on others. I pay for clothes, shoes, phone, travel and toiletries etc.
She is, regardless of pocket money, expected to share in the household tasks. I do not think becoming a civilised adult should be dependent on me paying her.

What age would you say is the correct age to stop giving pocket money? 16?
I know some parents don't want their kids to get part time jobs incase it conflicts with their studies. GCSEs and a levels are very important.

£25 per month for both - age13 and 16

DS 15 gets £50 a month, his phone contract paid and £10 a week for snacks and drinks at school. He doesn't have to earn it. I buy clothes and shoes he needs, he buys what he wants. It works for us.
