My 14yo gets £20/month. She does not have to earn it, she gets it because she deserves some money of her own to buy things she fancies, to save or to spend on others. I pay for clothes, shoes, phone, travel and toiletries etc. She is, regardless of pocket money, expected to share in the household tasks. I do not think becoming a civilised adult should be dependent on me paying her.
What age would you say is the correct age to stop giving pocket money? 16? I know some parents don't want their kids to get part time jobs incase it conflicts with their studies. GCSEs and a levels are very important.
