Hi All,

Looking for some advise.

DD has always kept me on my toes shall we say.. although this was exhausting when she was little, as you should, kept to my guns when challenging negative behaviour using various methods that were consistent and rewarding the positive.

However, now we are approaching our mid-teens this is now beyond exhausting! Just when I think we have turned a corner bam something else occurs. The wilful and fiery character is just on another level at times coupled with the hormones.. on a positive we have a great relationship and she does confide in me with various things ( some of it I'd rather not know but.. ) which is half the battle but she can be extremely hurtful towards me and anyone that crosses her she tends to cut off. Long story short she has had a few family ( extended) related issues that she did receive counselling for but stopped going.

So latest- pick her up with pal whiff a distinctive smell - cannabis challenged it smell it mainly on pal. Daughter makes usual teenage reasons and explanations as to why I can smell it "We were with people... blah blah at this point I now smell BS! I then not letting it go find evidence with pals clothing. What's my problem I get bellowed at me..

Had the chats about drink, drugs, sex and placing self in vulnerable situations etc next port of call police. Child has always seemed to be mischievous shall I say, that behaviour at this point is gonna get serious but she appears to be oblivious she knows best!!

Has anyone had similar experiences?

Yes I have. Youngsters go through phases (didn't we?), I promise you this one will pass.

See the positive side of it: Smoking weed is better than drinking. ;)

I certainly second that, SmartPlay.
