Teeth brushing, general hygiene

Can I ask for some opinions?

I’m not a mum, but am a step mum to two (11 & 14).

Is it normal that I have to remind both kids to wash their faces, brush their teeth every day numerous times)? The 14 year old will say she’s done it but me or my OH (their dad will have to check if her toothbrush is wet). And 9/10 it’s dry so she has to be forced into the bathroom.

It’s the same with hair washing.

Is this normal? It’s starting to do my head in that a 14 year old can’t remember (or be bothered) to brush her teeth.

It's not unusual for 14yo, tbh.

Entirely normal. Dd is nearly 13 and I have to remind her all the time to wash and brush her teeth, she drives me demented. In fact I bought some disclosing tablets in an effort to get her to brush her teeth properly.

Yep. It’s annoying and gross, but pretty standard.
