I think the time has come 😞 but I'm not sure what's best for his (perfect, baby soft) skin - electric or wet shave? Any advice gratefully accepted. Ta

My 14 yo DS has just started shaving the bit of fluff above his lip- dh bought him shaving foam & a razor probably because that's what he uses...seems to be going ok so far!

shaving cream, a brush and a decent razor.

It would be worth trying to get him in to a skin care regime at this point as well so that it becomes second nature to him.

Try and keep him away from aftershaves as they dry out the skin.

I started my ds off with a Gillette wet shave

DS age 14 has recently started shaving on a weekly basis. He uses a brush & soap rather than shaving gel/foam. DH says that the ALDI razors are pretty good quality too.

A decent bladed razor beats electric hands down. I much prefer gel over foam as it lubricates the skin better, king of shaves gel is my personal choice. Also, a styptic pencil is well worth buying to deal with inevitable nicks.

To offer the other option - we bought ds an electric survey for his 14th birthday, and he's about to turn 18 and still uses it. Yes, a wet shave will be closer, etc, but imo/e most teenage boys don't really need that level of accuracy! A quick buzz is fine (and less bloody) Grin

Oh jeez, clearly we bought him an electric shaver!

I saw on the BBC 'shop well for less' program last week that the Boots own brand electric shaver came out best on their trials and it was the cheapest at £19.99
