What coats are your 14/15 year old girls wearing? Dd has outgrown her old one and needs something warm but comfortable and not too bulky.

Any ideas please?

New Look - good idea thanks. Are their teen range coats cut for an adult figure? Dd is quite busty.

Superdry. I know its £££ but dd2 (14 tomorrow) wears hers every day at the minute.

Dd1 (17) is wearing a bright red coat with furry hood which was, I think £30 in Tesco. But she doesn't care what anyone thinks!

Topshop bomber jacket with a fluffy rim on the hood

this one
Seems it was £39.

Have had many dramas over coats with dd. Absolutely no furry hoods and no bulky puffy coats.

After a really good school report she "accepted" a Jack Wills coat. It is lovely and warm and did have 30% off!

My DD refuses to wear anything considered fashionable by the popular crowd - i think they take the piss out of her if she does Sad. She has this.

I like the Topshop quilted bomber jackets.

My Teen DDs are wearing superdry (new from ebay!). I'd also second New look, but go for their adult range as the teen range is cut very small.

Another recommendation for Superdry. My daughter wore her first one for 3 years and we only bought her a new one because she'd outgrown the first. They're warm and well made and last extremely well. I was very reluctant to buy her one at first due to the cost but now I'm a convert. I recommend their backpacks four school too.....very hard wearing!

....for school....not four school!!!

Amazed at all the teens that wear coats at all! Can't get my DD to wear one even when its zero degrees and horizontal sleet... it's not cool, Mum... Grin

I've three teens. One is mostly wearing a topshop khaki colour puffy thing with a furry hood that cost about £70ish - it's really warm. The other two aren't wearing anything because it's too much hassle to carry them round school all day Hmm

Same as I hate the cold: Toyshop bomber jacket with a fluffy rim on the hood.

I bought DD a short parka for chilly days and a long khaki parka with extra lining for freezing days from H&M with 20% off. H&M have a huge choice of parka/anorak styles so worth a look for fussy teens.

A giant hoody that she 'borrows', from her boyfriend.
She has a Superdry coat, but won't wear it.

Report
IHaveBrilloHair · 28/11/2017 19:58

It's giant as her boyfriend is 6'5, and she is 5'2.

What does your DD think?

A lot of recommendations for superdry by PP's but around here superdry is what the Tweenies (9-12 ish) are wearing. By the time they get to 13 it's no longer to be seen In.

Don’t think dd is too fussed about brands tbh. She just wants warmth without excess bulk!

My teen asks for coats, receives said coat, sends said coat back, complains about not having a coat.

So far, This has been recieved and sent back for being too bulky This one was the wrong shade of red when it arrive i.e it was purple as shown in the picture and This one was the wrong shape.

I've given up now. She can be cold and wet.

I'm starting to thank my lucky stars for DD, who rejected 90% of the coats in H&M but still was happy to take two of them.

Report
YesThisIsMe · 28/11/2017 21:30

Actually, having checked the website, she actually rejected 99.3% of the 282 women's coats on offer in H&M. But that's still a win.

I'm surprised at Superdry being for pre teens migraleve

They don't do kids so these 9 year olds must be pretty big kids to fit in ladies sizes! My 12 year old can't get a Superdry coat to fit and she's not small!
