Must say I'm ill in bed with tonsillitis so feelings a bit more sensitive than usual.
My 19 and 17 y/o and me well we're just not getting on! Nothing major, eldest is very stressed at work and because she's broken up with her bf but she's just so horrible to everyone in the house, but can change just like that.
17 yo is lovely but so selfish, ie won't walk dog for me, big energetic dog that is used to me taking him out twice a day but he lies in bed until it's too late in morning then yells at me that i should have told him to walk dog... i know it's not major I'd just love one of them to offer me a cuppa or ask what they can do to help out.
I've had a really stressful couple of weeks which has culminated in my getting ill so I'm most trying to come up with some ideas to improve relations moving forward once I'm well.
They both even expected their dinner cooked last night. They're old enough right????
I find them so draining sometimes, if i want anything done round the house they have to be told despite the fact my expectations are so clear, then i get actually yelled at for 'going on about it' etc.
I tel them it's unacceptable to treat me like this but it makes no difference so i figure it must be me and my parenting....

God i feel like shit at the moment!! Need to get a grip!!!!!

I regret to say that my teenagers sound almost exactly the same as yours. I am amazed that I have reared such selfish lazy kids. No one to blame but myself really....and I live in hope that they will smell the coffee and get nicer.
So, OP, you are not alone....hope you feel better soon.💐

Sorry you are feeling crap OP.
Mine are horrible at the moment. So ungrateful for everything.
DS 17 has been very rude to me this evening.
I just went away for a week and left them to it.
They were pleased to see me back but house was full of dirty laundry. Fortunately, they hadn't had a party or anything.
