Hi,

Where do your teenage boys buy summer shorts?

DS is 12, tall so in small menswear ( or 14-15 teens), I cannot find him shorts that he likes anywhere!!!!

He likes the idea of soft jersey type material but likes them to be right down to his knee, not skirting the bottom of his thigh like all the ones I've found Confused

My son is 13, we live in Brazil so he is in shorts a lot. He and his friends are really into this style at the moment long jean shorts

Or does he prefer board shorts?

Thanks everyone! I've found some knee length slim fitted jean shorts in a variety of colours in H&M men's. Fingers crossed he approves.......

Try Zara. Good in length and wash lovely!

Why can't he pick some himself? You presumably have an Internet connection and may be close to a shopping centre so tell him your budget is e.g. £100 pick as many or as few pairs of shorts as you like?

I encourage teens to pick their own clothes because I'm still haunted by the memory of being 14 and dressed head to toe in beige by my mother shudders

Your 12yo wears shorts? Wink

He's a pain to take shopping as he finds it boring (hence trying to find out exact shops to head to rather than wandering around!) , and anything we find online never seems to appeal to him when he puts it on! Angry

I don't ever remember being this fussy at 12

When my fussy shopping-hating DS was this sort of size/age I found some nice stuff on eBay. Can you set yours up to look for himself?

H&M have these.

Are you sure my son isn't also your son! Extremely fussy with what he will wear.
H&M go up to age 14+ which is actually quite a large fit and too big for my skinny 14 year old.

The age 14+ cheap jersey shorts from H&M are knee length and they last forever. DSs at over 6 feet and 34 inch waist are still squeezing into the. SOme of th ones they have they've been wearing since they were 10 and now are approaching 16 and 15!

These ones:

They are good - some we managed to get some on sale at £2.99 at one point and they have been worn day in day out, summer and winter for years and are still going strong! I haven't bought any new ones at 14+ for them, I've been buying the men's ones instead but they aren't so long and aren't liked as much so they continue to squeeze into the old ones as well.
