Would you allow it?

I don't drink shots in my house... so I guess that's a no.
Who is bringing the spirits?

No. Will end in puking.

Nope. No way.

No.

And yes, I do have a 15 year old.

I would, rather them do it in the house than in a field

15? No way.

No bloody way, and I have a 14yr old.

No. Especially if they aren't even your DC.

I dunno, at least the field won't need cleaning (shudder & nod at puking mention). FFS, I don't understand adults who ever drink like that, never mind daft teens. I thought there was something about their livers still aren't up to it, either.

No I wouldn't.

What's the situation?

No, I would probably allow a bottle of cider or beer each.

My dd was at a party tonight where this happened, parents at home, and I was trying to understand why on earth you'd allow it

(I have a 16 year old)

Was it a shot each? If they were downing a bottle of tequila I would be really cross/worried.
Is your DD ok?

DorothyL · 30/01/2016 22:03

Yes she's fine she didn't join in

I was at a party like that when I was 15. Some of the guys from my class had quite a few shots then climbed out of an attic window onto the roof and (literally) hung around laughing and joking. It was 3 stories high and raining so slippery.

Soon the mother realised and came storming up, got them inside and the party was over.

Puking is one of the better options for what can happen to intoxicated 15 year olds IMO!

Would not be impressed at this happening and would not allow this in my house at that age.

Report
DramaAlpaca · 31/01/2016 21:33

No I wouldn't allow this.

ImperialBlether · 31/01/2016 21:34

No way. The whole point of shots is to get pissed as fast as you can, isn't it? Why would you encourage that in 15 year olds?

a few of the parties at dds school can be like this. One parent was drunkenly boasting at Christmas about a teen party he had hosted.
dd stays well away.

No, I wouldn't.

I had a friend asking me recently if I would allow my 14 year old to go to a mixed house party where no parents were present and sleepover. It was like she couldn't guage if she was being unreasonable or not. I said "no fucking way" and she seemed quite relieved. So she went and picked him up at midnight. He had had beer and vodka shots. She was a bit Shock. Lots of our mutual (middle class perfectly respectable) friends did allow their 14 year old dds to sleep over. Presumably because they don't know how to say no to their children.
