Just wondered if anybody could recommend anywhere that offers day/residential practical science camps for teens. I'm struggling to find anything on line that is suitable for a 14yr old.

Thank you for the suggestions, you're right we are probably too late for this year but good to know. There seem to be so few options, I'm not sure we'll reach some of the criteria for the Sutton Trust with regard to financial circumstances and quality of school that DD attends but the private ones the universities run are way out of our price range. I'll keep searching!!

Some Unis do sessions during the summer. Good luck!

Also look at Headstart which is year 12 but they may do some for younger students.
Also not a summer course but if he going into yr 11 it may be worth looking at Arkwright scholarships as they pay for Headstart couses. I think headstart do some camps for younger girls

Why not look at the Google camp online? They have themed weeks?

Mine both did Salters Chemistry camps in Year 10 and Headstart in Year 12.
I think you have to apply the winter before.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I have found a free course run by EON which looks really good too. Good to know there are things available, just takes a little searching and some Mumsnet wisdom!
