DH has just tidied out the utility room where my 2 teen DSs keep their shoes - he is moaning as there were 19 pairs in there - he then started moaning and asked them to weed out what needed to be binned as grown out of or worn out - they weeded out one pair each and told him that one pair of sandals belonged to me. That left 8 pairs each which he was still moaning about when I got in from work. So I reviewed what was there, they each had:
- School shoes
- Indoor gym trainers for school
- Walking Boots (Scouts/DofE)
- Walking Shoes (Scouts etc)
- Ordinary outdoor trainers
- Nicer trainer type things for going out in
- Sandals for Holidays
- Crocs for camping/swimming
So, okay they may manage without both Crocs and Sandals but otherwise I didn't think that was over the top? They have a pair of wellies each in the garage and don't do sport that needs extra footwear such as football etc.
Added to his moaning was that the 2 pairs of worn out ones then had to be pulled back out the recycling as he is taking them to do some water sports this week so they will be useful to use those for that before dumping them......so his clear-out amounted to me getting handed my sandals to put upstairs.
Then he decided they only needed one jacket each but that's a different story..... :o
