What did you buy your daughter for her 13th birthday?

Just wondering if anyone could throw a few ideas my way please as I'm really struggling!

We've already bought her 'big' present of 1D tickets but they're for next year and she already knows about them so I've bought her a few bits & bobs, just little bits of make up, hair stuff etc as I'm going to make her a little beauty hamper thing so she has something to unwrap on the day, but am stuck for what else to get? We did originally plan on a keepsake such as a Links bracelet that she can add to, but it's a bit much now that we've bought the tickets and she wouldn't be able to wear it much anyway...

Any ideas? She's into the usual teen stuff, music, clothes, boys etc. but I want something a little bit special for this birthday :)

I got dd1 a small silver Tiffany heart. It's on a fine chain and is a lovely keepsake. It helped that we were in America not long before her birthday.

My dd wanted an SLR camera which was quite expensive so we paid for half of it and she paid for half with money that she had saved. She still loves it 2.5 years later.
Small things - I can't really remember. I think her sibs gave her nail polish, clothes, things like that. I have a memory that I have wiped of a union jack onesie...! That might have been christmas though.
Something nice for her room? My DD is into little photo frames everywhere with pictures of her with her friends in them. She also loves scarves, music, cool stationery...

RumersHasIt that made me laugh! I probably got a Naff Naff jacket or one of those velvet hats like Blossom used to wear!

Thanks loads everyone, some good ideas there. She would be made up with a Tiffany necklace to be honest, she covets mine but never has chance to swipe it and hide it in her midden of a bedroom as I always have it round my neck Wink

I made my daughter a Teenage Survival Kit. I bought a wooden lockable box, had a sticker made ( that said 'Teenage Survival Kit' on it) and stuck that on the lid. Then I filled it with; A diary, a New Look gift card, a variety of travel size body creams, shampoos, conditioners, deoderant, hairspray, face masks, false nails, nail vanish, hairbands, makeup etc. I wrapped up all these bits in different coloured tissue paper, so loads to open on the day. I have to say it's the one present she talks about all the time, and she is constantly ( even after 2 months ) taking all the things out ( that she hasn't used yet ) and rearranging them in the box. She just loves it. /emo/te/1.gif

DD2 is 13 in a couple of months.
She already got an iPod touch for her last birthday and she got a new mobile phone for Christmas.
For this birthday she would like one of those black Superdry jackets that everybody is wearing.
Cheaper birthday this year! Grin

Ibab that is such a fab idea! Can I ask where you got the box from? I've already bought her a few little bits & pieces so might just steal the idea!

Peerie - Grin I remember getting £21 in total for my 11th. I thought I was a millionaire haha!

I got the box off ebay. Search for this
NEW LOCKABLE PLAIN WOOD WOODEN BOX DECOUPAGE 29 x 25 x 15 cm (P29/15) CRAFT
and I got the label to stick on the lid made at www.make-a-sign.co.uk.
I got the plain wooden box as I though she'd like to paint it at some point to personalise it. For now though, she likes it as it is.

Artic, how lovely for your girl! Unfortunately our nearest body of water is the duck pond down the lane so not sure sailing lessons would work too well for DD!

Ibab, thanks very much that's really helpful :)

I think she got money to feed her book habit.

DD has a serious paper and electronic book habit, not helped by a boring bus route.

I just raided Primark, Superdrug and even Tiger for bits and bobs. She got things like a light up make up mirror, make up brushes etc from Primark. I can't even remember what it all was now but it did the job of giving her plenty to unwrap. She is hard to buy for as she doesn't want anything. If it's not gaming she's not interested. We gave her money and she had ten friends over who gave her stuff, plus family.

HELLO MOMS AND DADS OUT THERE!!!!!!!! I am a teen and I am just want to say if you guys need help I am here for you! It mostly depends on what kind of daughter you have and how old she is! If she is thirteen and a girly girl who loves looks, you should probably get her nail polish, hair straightener/ curler, you can also get her makeup, vanity things. IF she is a thirteen and a tomboy you should get her something sporty, maybe sporty outfits and maybe things that she could use to practice at a certain sport she likes. Hopefully this is helpful for those desperate parents( NOT IN A MEAN WAY, IT IS COMMON FOR PARENTS NOT TO KNOW WHAT THEIR CHILDREN LIKE) who are stuck on things to get for their teenager girls! If you have any other questions I would gladly answer them for you if this was helpful!

Struggling what to get my daughter for 13th birthday. It’s a somewhat special age becoming a teen, but she already got the usual stuff (phone, tablet, PlayStation) don’t think she would be too excited about jewellery.
