He thinks he's got one on each side but the left is a real lump and he says it hurts. I just wondered if anyone knows - is this is normal?

I have no idea, but my GP friend says if you find any lumps you should always get yourself seen by a doctor. These things are almost certainly nothing, but it's worth checking out.

My partner says he had them but it's starting to bother me now. I think you're right docs it is.

My son had this. I posted about it and goggled it and found it is very common and hormone related. He hasn't mentioned it recently but from observation when he has his shirt off it no longer sticks out like it did.

ds (19) had one about a month ago. It hurt but there was no red mark, it was under the skin right by the side of his nipple. Took him to the GP who said it seemed soft (though it felt like a hard pea to me) and said if it hadn't gone in another fortnight to come back and she'd send him for tests.

A fortnight later he couldn't feel it at all.
