Since dd 15 best and only friend moved to Australia 4 weeks ago she is at a complete loss...

I don't know what to do with her, yesterday we went to football which killed 3 hours ish. Today she has done nothing apart from speak to her friend in Austrailia on Ipad for 3 hours, and now she is bored... I am not the kind of person to browse shops because then I see nice things that I cant buy.. And I just don't know what to do with her.

I have got to get her through half term.

My 14yo daughter struggles to entertain herself too, but I do encourage her to do things with her friends.
Does she struggle to make friends? Why not try a holiday club, we have loads going on over the holidays. Can recommend Kings camp, great for getting them out and about doing things and might even make new friends. We sometimes just go out for a walk, grab a coffee/sandwich at a cafe, great way to try and get them to talk and open up as there are few distractions!

My 13yo dd reads, lots. I don't think she'd really notice that much if everyone else disappeared as long as she had access to a library.

Does she do any activities out of school? Playing an instrument in an orchestra, joining an exercise/dance class, guides/scouts, etc are all good ways of making more friends.
