should I let my 15 year old go to a house party not sure if it will be supervised .. he has assured me he will not smoke or do drugs ... do I trust him or not because I'd like too but I know what boys together can do ??

If you are not sure if it is supervised then find out. I always wanted the landline number of the parents before I'd let DS go.

I have never knowingly let ds go. He's 15. I do know that he has been because he has an older friend who's house he stayed at that night. Nothing dreadful happened to him but I would have liked to have known about it.

Thing is he will find a way next time whether you like it or not. At least if you know about it you can make sure he's ok when he gets home and check him for signs of drugs or fags.

I think it's good he told you. He's keeping the lines of communication open.

Get the landline number and call to find out if there is supervision. Even if you trust your son, you should know that there is a responsible adult there in case of emergencies.

My 17 year old had a house party last weekend, about 10 boys altogether.

Wasn't a complete success; boys who were charming when sober turned into loonies after a few drinks.

Few bits of my stuff damaged and I will think twice next time.
