Batman: Arkham City - suitable?

My ds, nearly 16, very much wants this X Box Game. Rated 16 and I've just seen a video clip: the violence and aggression was OTT, I thought, for a game based on what used to be strong, tough but not particularly aggressive characters. DS plies the pressure - is annoyed that I'm researching the suitability or otherwise of this game - and would be furious to think I'm posting a question on MN!

Any thoughts from anyone? I'm so tired of constantly having to resist the pressure. He's in the throes of GCSEs and can't see that somethings have to wait.
