Teenagers

I'm posting here, as I feel I am going to lose the plot completely with DS1

He was off school for 2 days due to having hurt his wrist and having it strapped up. I ahd DS2 (11) at home too with a bad cold.
Anyway last night I gave DS1 (13) some clothes of his and asked him to put thm away. He took a massive strop and threw them all up int eh air. Then lay down on his bed yelling "It's not fair".

I calmly picked the clothes up and went into our room, my intention being to put the clothes into DH's wardrobe, out of his way, to see if he eveentually realised they were missing. He came into teh bedroom behind, kicking the door open. it, obviously, rebounded and caught him ont eh ankle.
More wailing and crying

Anyway this morning he got up and got dressed. Then said "I'm not going to school, this hurts to wlak on it"> I wanted to say "well that's what ahppens when you kick doors", but didn't.

He's refused point blank to go to school, saying that he can't walk to the bus and can't walk round school as his ankle is sore.

He is upstairs , I made him go into the spare room where there is no tv or x-box and he's wailigna nd shouting "It's not fair". I don't drive, and DH is overseas, so I jsut need to get this off my chest on here!

I'd go in and film him doing that( have done so before too)

Teen strops caught on video, show it him when he's calm, he'll feel ashamed of himself! He needs to be in school, I'd take him in myself, even going in at lunchtime is better than nothing

Ring the school and talk to someone ,tell them he is refusing to go

Sorry I didn't see the end of your post. You are doing the right thing. Home but home with no perks, your day might suck though...........

No, letting him manipulate you this way is NOT the right thing!!

I don't know why there's a massive gap between the end sentence and the restHmm. When i press return key it's not letting me start a new paragraph! It was fine when I posted it!
I'd have to get someone to take me in, which might be difficult!
I can hear him now muttering to himself and shouting "It hurts"> I feel like saying well it can't hurt that much as you managed to sleep all night. On a weekend he can be awake at 5/6 am (which is the times he used to waken every day) but on school days he will not get up! Last night I even persuaded (after the tantrum) him to go to bed by 8.30, and he was fast asleep when iw ent up at 9pm, so he's ahd a good sleep

You have my sympathy.

Maybe find out what is really bothering him about going into school when he has had a chance to calm down?
