Abstinence Programs do not work!

"Life" has been invited onto a government committee about sex ed. The only abstinence program found to work was a research program(by people called Jemmott) not in use in the USA. It was for 12 year olds. It did not portray sex in a negative light. It did not ask for abstinence until marriage and it gave medically accurate information. All the other abstinence programs upped the rate of teen pregnancy and lowered condom use. NICE consider these programs unethical. "Life" has an agenda and they have never been accused of accurate medical information. We need to tell our MPs and the government and Nadine Dorries to er put a sock in in and leave the kids alone?
The program that worked was pretty close to what they do in Holland which is to assume and promote sex as part of a loving committed relationship while giving kids real information.
Was arguing yesterday with an anti abortionist fundamentalist. Praise the Lord she said abstinence programs lowered the rate of abortions. Trouble is they raised the number of teen pregnancies and STD transmission including HIV transmission.
People should know that "Life" is getting its insane beak into our childrens education.

Is there a petition? I think this sounds insane and would be happy to join in any campaign. And would indeed praise the Lord if they got kicked of this government committee pronto.
