my 12 yr old DD1 has just been diagnosed with it this morning, and as she has kidney problems, she has been prescribed Relenza instead, in the form of an inhaler. Just wondering if anyone else has used this, and are there any side effects? Is it as good as tamiflu?

I only know that in the Tamiflu leaflet it says to tell your healthcare provider if you suffer from kidney problems and a number of other problems (see in section labelled 'patient information').

It can make you a bit wheezy if you have a tendency to be - so if she has asthma keep her normal inhalers handy when taking it, but is theoretically much safer than tamiflu for people who are pregnant or have kidney problems.

it is called 'relenza' (drug name = Zanamivir)
