No, absolutely not. No vaccines for DS at all. And I have real concerns about this vaccine as opposed to other ones. I would be interested to hear others thoughts on whether they will give it to their kids or not.

DS is first on the list at the hospital, its coming end of August according to his HC team, i can't risk him getting it and getting it bad he is so high risk, so he has to have it. sad

Yeah hes fisrt inline for that to, although saying that he had all the regular child immunisations and when he was being diagnosed he went through loads of thests and it showed that they wern't actually effective so im not sure what good they do!

No way would I give my children the vaccine.

BCNS Thu 16-Jul-09 20:53:44

not until It's been proved it's safe.. mind you we already have old pig flu in the house.. so I'm guessing we don't need it?

gemmiegoatlegs Thu 16-Jul-09 20:55:27

I wouldn't get it until it had been thoroughly trialled. But my family are not high risk (except dsis who is a nurse)

I wish I hadn't watched I Am Legend before the news of swine flu broke in the news!

Is it any different to ordinary flu vaccines? dd2 is high risk, she had the flu vaccine last winter....

whomovedmychocolate Thu 16-Jul-09 22:26:17

Elibean - it is completely different as I understand it. Round here it starts 7th August. And I haven't decided yet whether to give it to the DCs.

7th August! Wow, thats soon.

More worrying dilemmas then....

Elibean Thu 16-Jul-09 22:49:11

Ah. Thanks for the link, wmmc.

dd2 is in an 'at risk' group, so presumably she'd be offered the vaccine even though she's 2.5? hmm

whomovedmychocolate Thu 16-Jul-09 23:05:03

Apparently not. hmm
