How do you feel about presentations of violence against women on popular TV/film? Do you want to respond to the 'sexualised spectacle' of VAWG on our screens? Does Game of Thrones and similarly debated programs containing depictions of VAWG content leave you feeling like you want to speak out? If so, here's your chance to do so. Please complete the survey linked below to have your say. Additionally, if you'd like to participate in this research in more depth or to send a comment directly please email Thank you.

Could you clarify for whom this research is being conducted, and what purposes any results will be used for.

Of course, good question. It's in preparation for a PhD and completely not-for-profit.

The survey is being conducted by 2 independent women as part of our grassroots non-profit project. We both work in the VAWG (ending violence against women) sector and are interested in considering the potential for PhD research that would give women themselves a voice about how they experience TV/film portrayals of VAWG.

The survey is a pretest to determine the need for further research at PhD level. At no time will the results be passed to corporations or used for marketing or any other unstated reasons. The research post here has been cleared by to Mumsnet, and adheres to both SurveyMonkey and standard ethical research guidelines.

Thank you for this helpful clarification request.

I hope this helps and you feel inspired to support this important work by completing our survey.
