Hi everyone,

My name is David Knight. As part of my PhD research Making Planning Popular at the Royal College of Art, I am researching the relationship between the planning system and the general public in the United Kingdom.

^Have you sought/gained consent for an extension or a new building?
Have you fought to protect or create a community asset or historic building?
Have you opposed or supported someone else's planning application?
Have you ever engaged with planning policy or your local planning department?^

I need your stories, however vitriolic, banal or celebratory.

If you'd like to contribute please reply below or email david.knight@network.rca.ac.uk - your contribution could be as simple as a sentence or two in this thread.

Your contributions are hugely valued and will be used to explore design possibilities for a better connection between the planning system and the general public – thank you.

Thanks for inviting me to participate. We're not fully through the process yet, but happy to help if I can. I'll email you. R
