•Do you have a child aged 11-14?

•Would you like to tell us what it’s like to be a mum of a young teen?

I’m studying for a PhD at Warwick University, looking at parenting of families with one child compared to those with two or more children. We’re interested to see how mums today get on with parenting, and would love to know what you think!

All responses are anonymous and confidential, and it should only take you around 20 minutes to fill in our survey.

Please feel free to get in touch with me via my details below if you’d like to ask me any questions about this study.

All mothers who complete the survey will be entered into a draw to win a £50 LEISURE GIFT VOUCHER!

Thank you! smile

There are plenty of men here.

OP - if you do know anything about MN at all, I'd advise you to have a look at some of the stuff you're asking (and the words you use). Your title isn't clear either - you're asking for mothers of 11-14 year olds, with one child, to respond. Not sure you're going to get many within that 21 and under cohort you give as an option though . . . confused.

Yes, I'd advise reporting the title and getting it changed to 'Parent of one young teen?' or something.
I clicked but am not eligible.
I do like a survey though. smile

(And I went to Warwick!)

I've just had another look (because, generally, I love doing questionnaires!) and I am surprised you even got that past your supervisor, to be honest. It will be ripped to shreds when you get your viva. It has a lot of Americanisms in it, which will pit some people off; it implies some actions are the same when they are not (criticise and scold, for example); it has basic mistakes in terms of grammar and spelling; it is confusing in the options it gives (curse means something else in the UK, so asking if we do this is odd). You really need to redo this - and, again, if it has been passed by your supervisor, get that sorted too.

Quick! I'm gonna do the survey, do I fill it in for dopey 12yo or stroppy 14yo?

Don't these surveys have to go thru giant Ethics Committee reviews?

oh gawd, I actually gave up, it's so boring, and this from some one who loves filling in forms & surveys.

Why does no one repeat the likert scale, I can't remember what box is what when the titles scroll off the page.

Besides, who is gonna admit they spank a 12 yr old as punishment? No way that went thru an Ethics committee.
