Program For Children with Learning Difficulties

Dear mumsnet users,

I am a University student who is looking to get some feedback on an idea for a program to improve the learning of children with special needs.

The program is a web-based application which generates an IEP (Individual Education Plan) for children as well as a report on the learning styles and methods that best suit the child. The teacher or tutor will be able to scan a selection of the pupil's work and the program will then read it (handwriting and typed work) and produce the IEP and report. Having this report would enable the teachers to better understand how to teach the pupils with these learning disabilities in a way that will engage with them as well as help them to integrate better with the whole class lessons.

We intend to sell the program to schools as well as private tutors on an annual subscription basis meaning that the students can be tested however frequently the schools wish, which is particularly important at primary level as children can change within a year.

I am writing on mumsnet to gauge interest and to ask if this is a program that you would be happy for your children to use, and would like your child's school to invest in.

Thanks in advance,
Jack
