Hi I've looked into foster to adopt and surrogacy , the issue for me is that I have a daughter and our local authorities are trialling concurrent adoption. Where you have the baby while the courts our deciding.
I think this is amazing for the child however my daughter I don't think would cope if the baby had to return to their parents. The other issue is work have said that I wouldn't be able to go through the process again. Just wandered if any one had had experience of either , and if so what's reasonable to expect cost wise in relation to surrogacy
Many thanks

I personally think that going for surrogacy is sometimes a better option. Yes, adoption sounds great and it is. But it can take years and years. When surrogacy is pretty much a closed deal.

My brother has decided to use the surrogacy route to start a family. Has anyone had this and share advice ?

He has gone to Georgia to have it because the UK waiting lists are to long, there is a waiting list, to get on the waiting list.

Currently, the surrogate mother is pregnant. He said he will pay £10,000 on delivery and then whatever the agency/solicitor fees are,

If you go for surrogacy it’s legally simpler to use donor eggs (not the surrogate’s).

Britney, I don't know what he used, I know he would've done everything as meticulously as he can. I hear horror stories that the mother is allowed to change their minds after the birth. I know I've been watching TV movies and it does frighten me. Until the baby is in his arms, then I'll be happy.

Oh I wasn't judging Celia, I'm just really interested in the process. We are starting the adoption process or thinking about it but we do have 3 frozen embryos and unfortunately I cannot carry a baby. Surrogacy is something that we have been toying with. I would love if u could message me with any info that u have. I can give u my email if it's easier

That's good to hear regards the adoption. My younger sister adopted in Hong Kong as she lives and works there. She adopted him when he was a baby, so that's good. The orphanage even encouraged her to have another ( like buy one get one free ) as they were overloaded. He is now 8, and at first I wasn't sure how he'd get on with my daughters who are now 13 and 7, but they have bonded as if they were biological cousins, probably even better. The surrogacy is happening in Georgia ( near Russia ). My brother is 45 and his wife is 55. He said the waiting list for surrogacy here is very long, and there's a waiting list for a "waiting list" if you can understand that. I don't know the details of the agencies he used, but I will ask him. I think he has to go over to Georgia and even stay for a bit when the baby is due in August. The baby will be biologically his, but not his wife. It's £10,000 on delivery and then there is the solicitors and agency fees. Britney, I am happy for you and i sincerely pray that things will work well.

Hi, does anyone know much about surrogacy abroad?

I am on the UK surrogate groups, but amongst so many ip’s, it’s hard to interact… anyone know any better ways? Thinking of going abroad…
