Struggling to find the perfect guinea pig cage

I’m looking for a new cage for two indoor GPs - we currently have a Ferplast 120 but I would like to size up a bit.

We don’t have loads of space so I don’t think I can stretch to a 160cm but we could fit in a 140cm. However I can only find ones like this: this or this. The first is made of two sections of 100+40cm with a ridge in between, so I don’t think they’d really get any benefit from the extra length in terms of space to move around. The second is better but seems to have fairly small doors - it looks like it would be awkward to clean/get the GPS out from.

Does anyone have any other suggestions? I’d love to get then a C&C setup, but current cage sits on a storage unit and the c&c would just be too wide unfortunately.

Can’t you put a two tier c&c cage on the floor? My guinea pigs loved the extra room. X

A question for those of you that have C&C setups - can you overlap the squares a little and fasten together with eg cable ties to make the sides slightly shorter? I suppose then the base wouldn’t fit but just thinking aloud...

I don’t see why you couldn’t overlap the sections on the side. My advice is join a facebook group for guinea pig owners and see what others do.

I used the ferplast 140 from P at H for my last guinea pigs, I could fit the whole top half of me inside and I'm rather fat, so cleaning it or retrieving piggies was easy enough :-) Before buying the Ferplast the piggies had a 5ft hutch 2 tier hutch, it was in the garden during the summer and in the winter we carried the whole thing inside, I varnished the outside of it to match the wooden furniture I have and it actually didn't look too bad.
